As someone that uses a flashlight everyday at work, I am looking very forward to the max. Larger battery capacity is very welcome. The floody beam is much more useful for working inside electrical boxes or on equipment that is somewhat close up. The new Pro Max also does not have the tail switch and that is a good thing. The magnet can be used to collect metal grinding or shavings out of an electrical box and is still easy to clean off. The tailcap switches are great for a tactical light but are terrible for a work light. Thanks for the great comparison and kudos to the ninja!

Since you are working inside electrical boxes do you prefer NW for distinguishing wire colors and generally better perception?
I know I prefer NW in either the Pro or Max (on order). I have the Max in WW and love it for the nightstand. I would never get the CW (Crappy White) in either as I just do not see as well with it, despite its deceptive crisp appearance. Although I think the camera probably overemphasized the blue in the CW, as Tim commented, it certainly illustrates why I do not like it.

Never even considered using that little trick for the magnet but this is my first experience with a side switch and a magnetic base. Come in handy for those small screws and bolts too! Thanks for the tip/reminder Dale. I went with the smaller pro in the NW light. I actually think I like the more focused beam and it’s more compact size but only time will really tell. I LOVE their little i5r for my ball cap over all tho. I’d be lost without it. I wear it nightly for work. Cheers Brother

Agreed, the difference is nice, so you aren't stuck with a compromise, get the one that suits your needs

I’m impressed with these little pro’s. I’m glad I went with mine over the pro max now. That focused beam really makes up for the difference in the turbo mode numbers and I always prefer a lighter and more compact light when carrying for long periods of time. It can really make a difference over time

Great review, I have the Baton pro and was curious about the Baton max, So glad I went with the pro, its smaller lighter and has a much better beam profile IMHO, it looks like it puts out more light at 1500 lumen than the max with 2500 lumen ( at distance)
In summary the Ninja stole the show. Awesome job Ninja!

I bought the ProMax in warm white and i hate it, is too warm as a color.
It also became warm in degrees on high and turbo. I bet its the same for the Pro. The head its too small and close to the rest of the body. A way better solution is Seeker4Pro, imo. And also the Baton 4 or even 3, those are at least small and with the Premium case of the 4 i can set for both a value between Medium and High to suit my eyes.
    Thank you for the video!

Dude... what... I gotta read my manuals 😅 I had no idea about the moonlight, turbo, and strobe on my pro. I appreciate the size comparison. The pro max is actually not that much bigger. And it's still smaller than another 18650 I got off amazon that I'm looking to retire. Might have to pick up a purple one in the next sale.

I just bought 2 of the baton 3 pro with the roadster scheme from amazon. The color is awesome.

I just got the Baton 3 Pro MAX today and I absolutely love it! I was a little worried that the neutral white emitter would look very yellowish, but to my surprise it turned out to be the best neutral white tint out of all my flashlights! 😁 I will still prefer to carry the old Baton 3 Pro every day, because it's just simply the perfect size for EDC. But I will definitely pick this flashlight for when I need something brighter or need a light with longer runtime that still fits in my front pocket 🙂

I was going to buy the Max until I saw the beam. I want some throw so don't want all those lumens dissipated in a flood.
I'm glad for the cool/neutral choice but I wish they also had a choice between spot and flood for the beam (like Zebralight) .

I still prefer the Olight S2R Baton 2 as this light when compared to the Baton 3 Pro Max is just as bright and you can mechanically lock it out with a slight twist of the battery barrel. Why couldn’t they have allowed that feature on this one.

I think I'll be returning the max. Nice light and all but I can 'see' now, I prefer the focused beam too.

My favorite partof this video was the ninja. Perhaps when comparing flashlights in the future all weights and dims would be nice to have.

I think for the price, even with Olight's constant sales, there are some better lights out there. The hardware design is nice, but the proprietary batteries and charging on top of the average lumen and throw... if you get a great deal, cool. Otherwise I think the Marauder mini is the only Olight I've purchased that I'd recommend vs Fenix and Nitecore type brands for price/performance.

Hey, thanks 4 the info. Thinking of getting one. Can you change beam from wide to zoom beam . Tnx

    • @randomescu
      @randomescu 4 місяці тому

No, you cant. Olight offer this option only in a few bigger flashlights with multiple LEDs. Not zooming but using different LEDs and optics in the same body.

I've been using the warrior 2 and recently got the max. I'm trying to see if I like the distributed light of the max vs the focused light of the warrior. I sure lean towards having the focused light and may return the max.
