Another lovely experience. I like your comment re salmon and agree totally. Looks another great river and shows Ayrshire as a beautiful place. Thanks again.
Great video Davie, lovely seeing you on the top end of Ladykirk beat. Look forward to seeing you further down too as you said, more cover. A lot more Grayling getting caught in the last few weeks on the Ayr. Cheers, Murray
Great video yet again Davie. Good to see that with all your years of experience your days often mirror my own. Working away to tempt a few, very welcome, fish. I might steal the idea of a net with big mesh, “Don’t catch anything small enough to fit through………”😂😂
Well done. They are very fussy the Grayling on the river Ayr. You did well to get them to take. I just get rejections mostly from them them when I fish the dry fly
Hi Robert, To fish a whole river like the one I fished in the video I would have to buy a ticket for each club and I would probably need to buy at least 20 plus at a guess and even then I wouldn't get on all the water as some are private..I am a member of two and one costs me £60 and the other £30..I also have a day on the River Doon and it costs me £300 for that one day a week throughout the season so it could cost you a small fortune to fish them all..It's not like Canada or America where you can buy a single license to fish them all.. All the very best Davie
Morning Jim, I was using a Cadence fly line so I have attached a link to it for you to see..ATB Davie 4# Fly Line..www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product-category/fly-fishing/fly-lines/sm-fly-line/
Very surprised at the lack of trout interest. It just goes to show that grayling will happily take a dry fly though. I've always been led to believe that they're notoriously shy of the dry. I have a feeling that's just an excuse from those who cant catch them 😅.

There is no such thing as a bad day fishing on a beautiful river..... some are just better than others. Always a Pleasure
Niice day on the river, Davie... I enjoyed it. Thanks for that.

Always fancy a bit of grayling fishing. But the nearest river is 3+ hours from me. 😩
Your average to bad days are great days to me. Also do you do terrestrials flies along the other bank at all
How much do tickets for river access in the UK cost? In Alberta we luckily only have our annual license.

Wish I had Grayling to fish for,I could really use another species to snub my best efforts and bring me to tears.😭
