Thanks for sharing this masterpiece. Although I'm not young, I chase a wide variety of electronic music, but this masterpiece "reboots" me to the age I belong to.
This song is so precious. The karen's velvet voice maybe be considered as first plane 'talking to' others tender pianissimo's instruments: all integrating an unique musical texture. And if one might make an effort, it would be that all this beautiful sounds could be experienced by us as if it was an "soft" emotional "cry"...
........it's a shame this song is out of sync.........instrumentals don't match...........vocals either. Cubby on the drums truly not making his marks.
Thanks for commenting. I didn't find any videos with this song on the internet. In the original video or show From "Carpenters Music Music Music 1980", Karen sings part of the song and Ella Fitzgerald sings the other part. After a lot of work I managed to edit/assemble the video so we can see Karen singing the entire song.
Sad, how thin she is in this video :( I recommend a touching docmentary on "The Carpenters". It left me jaw dropped, just sitting in from of my TV for minutes.
I love the Carpenters version of This Masquerade, with Karen's unique voice, she master's it so well. It's a great chill out therapeutic song, of course George Benson's version is great to
Perfection. She is loved and missed.
She is the best female singer in the world.

In my opinion, Leon Russell’s best song. Karen’s voice, her brother’s piano playing, and the rest of the musicians are just perfect.
Fabulous! Simply!
同感です。シンプルで、心地良く、でも深い愛情の影が感じられ、やはりカレンはすごいシンガーです。
Karen Carpenter I love you
Greatness
Composed by the great Leon Russell.

@@NilsonAlvesFerreiraLooks like the guy is playing a oboe defineately not a flute;
@@NilsonAlvesFerreirait’s a matter of unsync between the video track with voice track. Maybe two seconds of unsync, but is 👌
I agree. I wanted to see Richard play that solo and he was playing something else.

The video doesn't match the song....you can tell at first when they show his hands on the keyboard. and at about 2:20. Still a beautiful song though
