Great review, exactly the kind of info I was looking for while I’m comparing the Z1 to the G1. Looks like you’re a new channel. Really liking the concise delivery, it’s like you have experience giving presentations!
Good review! It's interesting that you don't like the forehead notch, because it actually looks really good on you. And it helps give the helmet a little more shape, and less mushroom look, from the side. I think that notch will work for me, because I wear cycling caps in cooler weather and I find I tilt my current lid back a bit to avoid it pushing the bill over my eyes.
Thx Dean. If you wear a cycling cap then you will be fine. A lot of people seem to like the design so it might just be me, lol. Good luck with the helmet, and ty for the feedback and comment.
I LOVE the forehead "notch" on my Z1. Not for the space for "higher" sunglasses. But because it allows WAAAAY more airflow thru the front of the helmet when you've got sunglasses on and doesn't inch into your eyeline when in a tuck. It's pretty cool (pun intended) when you drop into an aero position, tilt your head slightly up and then suddenly feel significant air flow over the scalp. This only becomes noticeable once you wear other helmets and come back to the Z1. Didn't realize how much I loved this feature until I went on a months long journey trying to find a replacement for my aging Z1. I went thru Bell, Giro, Kask and Bontrager helmets. None of them fit correctly and tended to be sweat boxes here in Central Texas. I went back to my Z1 and instantly realized how much more air was passing thru it than all of those other helmets. It felt refreshing. I've since ordered a replacement Z1 and won't be trying to switch brands again. I absolutely loved the Genesis model I had well over a decade ago as well.
That's awesome Gary!!!! My Z1 is still going strong and the notch bothers me less and less every time. I will keep that in mind for my next helmet purchase. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I’m a classic rider looking for a new helmet and I’m thinking of buying this one. The reasons: de look of it mimics the old leather helmets from the past. The cutout will be perfect to wear my oldskool peugeot cap underneath. While the helmet looks slim, I hope it kind of mimics the rest of the cap.
I love the design of the Lazer helmets except for one item that has to do with the front cutout. It looks to me that one's forehead will require sunscreen. Everyone who's ever put sunscreen on their forehead knows that it mixes with sweat which rolls into your eyes and burns. Thoughts please? I'd like to be wrong.
Hey Joel, regardless of the cutout I have had to use sunscreen from time to time on my face, but I always use the "sport" versions so it's never been an issue. What kind of sunscreen are you using?
@@TrailSage I use Coppertone Sport. My current helmet, a Rudy Project Windmax which is out of production, provides enough shade so its not an issue. The sunscreen stays below the eyes and I'm fine. I'm not alone as my buddies have experienced the same thing. Sweat still gets in my eyes on hot days but it doesn't burn like when its infused with sunscreen.
Nice review Sage and that helmet is not your ordinary helmet believe me when I say it, this helmet looks good on you nice add ons yeah, the tail light at the back is an added visibility
Really insightful review and appreciate the expert opinion. Nice job on filming and editing the video as well. Does the cutout present any safety concerns vs. helmets that are straight across the forehead? Thanks!
Thx! I am slowly getting the hang of this youtube thing, lol. As for the helmet, they claim it is safer because you get increased visibility when you ride in the drops.
I think the Laser looks a lot better than any other helmet I have seen and tried. That's one of the main reasons I bought it. Mine has 'MIPS' and it is light and fits well.
That's a nice looking helmet, I've still got my Giro I've had for a while, I can't justify buying a new one, but that Lazer did look nice, pricey but nice 👍🏃

Hey thanks Terence. I'm glad it helped. It's a labor of love for sure. I am slowly getting the hang of this UA-cam thing, lol.
Which helmet did you purchase and why. I’m considering both as well right not. Thanks

Right on Jerome. It's a great helmet and I'm currently still using mine so we know it's durable, lol. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks for the review, very useful!
Right on Tim. Thanks for commenting!
Really helpful review! Now I’ve gotta look through your videos for a review of the G1 so I can compare.
Thank you so much Dylan. I'm glad you found it helpful.
Top-notch video production. Thanks for the review
Ty so much Caleb
Great looking helmet, Sage! Nice review!
Thx Mihai!
Really like your setup and background man. Thumbs up from a small creator 😅
Hey thanks Ethan!

@@joeldrubin9832 Ugh that sucks Joel. I use the same sunscreen, although I have never had that issue. Not sure how to advise.

Thanks RV. Even though it's not my favorite design, it's a great helmet, and I am still riding with it today.
@@TrailSage you’re welcome Sage and good to know

Thanks for the comment Takuan. I agree completely.

I hear ya, helmets are so expensive. I think I am stuck with this one for a couple years, lol.
Great value, works perfect
Thanks for watching Emma!
Good video. Motril, España.
Thanks Manuel!
Love this helmet!!
Me too. Thanks for watching!
It would have been nice if you showed us how you installed the LED light... smh
Dang, your right brotha. Wish I had thought of that. If you're curious, it literally just snaps in. Sry about that.
what size z1 helmet?
Hi Marvin, I have a smaller head so I went with small
A cycling cap might help fill that forehead gap!
It definitely would, as well as bigger sunglasses
