For so long we get teased and pushed away from the things we love and try to fit in and one day, no matter how long it takes, we always come back. No matter how hard we try not to be, we are who we are. You’ve aligned with yourself and your inner child this year and so our brain stops with so much anxiety and depression! 🥰

I'm not sure if someone has mentioned this yet. Sometimes, when we focus on things that remind of our childhood because we are needing comfort or healing past traumas. For some people, that nostalgia and memories give us an emotional hug and in times of distress, that is what we turn to for comfort. That's my opinion. It's almost like you are reaching out to your younger self and saying "this is okay and we have some good memories with these things" Going to see a psychologist or a therapist about this would be an excellent idea. It can be helpful to have an outsiders perspective to help us heal and understand better. Thank you for all that you do! I am forever grateful for just the human being that you are

Not a psychologist but I’ve done so much inner child therapy I could be 😂 it’s probably about how little Mark felt at those times, why those movies helped etc. like for me, Beauty and the Beast is that, and it’s because little Vicki felt so understood by Belle. I wanted to read, I was daydreaming, didn’t fit in and all that. And now that I’m an adult and diagnosed with ADHD when I watch it she is literally the OG female ADHD character so it gives little Vicki a hug of validation

I think the more you consume the negative media the more you see. Because I personally don’t see any negative videos on TikTok or Instagram or any other social media platforms. It’s all about what you interact with and what you follow, my content I see doesn’t bring me down and for me social media still is an escape and I know unfortunately that’s not the same for everyone else and it’s just sad that this is what content is turning into these days. Your videos Mark are one of the best uplifting content I can watch and I thank you for that ❤

mark i get the same way about wanting to dive into childhood things. It’s for sure the simplicity we’re all seeking. The love you felt as a child to the world was so comforting. Thinking nothing about the bad things in life and only about what you wanted to ask Santa for. The happiness I had as a child at christmas time was everything and every year i try so hard to reclaim that happiness but it always just leaves me feeling lonely and forgotten instead.

i'm a Psychologist, and from my opinion, this is where you find your joy and excitement. It provides that feeling and excitement in childhood that is often hard to replicate in adulthood (christmas eve, birthdays etc). Your "happy place", which provides relief. It could also be that you have accepted yourself and your interests in all aspects, and as an adult you are able to actually visit these places (that you may not have as a child). It is like we all have a comfort tv show or movie that keeps us calm, and if you can extend that to trips, absolutely do it.
I think a lot of us go through those phases of like...when we're young we just like what we like but as we get older, what other people think and what other people like starts to matter more and when you meet new people you haven't known since you were young you suddenly learn more about how you feel expressing what you like because it's not a familiar circle any more. Then i think eventually we get back round to being comfortable with ourselves and just not giving a sh*t what people think and we'll enjoy what we want to enjoy 🤣🤣. I was having this conversation with my dad recently like I'm 30 now and I've always been reasonably self confident mainly because I've had good people around me and if there's someone who didn't like me i didn't have to be around them really or not enough to get to the point of sharing interests at least but if we ever did...I don't know..art projects or something where we could do whatever we wanted i was never confident enough to be like "I'm going to do a drawing about X thing i like" like some people were. I didn't want that to be put in front of people to judge me. Now i draw loads of fan art of all sorts of things I love and post it on the internet and everyone is lovely. Sure there is an element of nostalgia and some people feel like oh everything was easier as a child and it's comforting and there is part of that. But i think there's something about owning things you love as an adult and just being like, yeah that's part of my life. I'm not crazy obsessive I'm not unhealthy about it but i don't give up joy the second i get a mortgage 😂😂😂
With the feeling of needing to connect to things from your childhood and wondering why, this really resonated with me. I feel like as an almost 24 year old, I’m struggling a lot with all the horrendous things that you realise happen in the world when you’re supposedly old enough to deal with it all in an adult brain, but I wish I could jump right back into watching the aristocats in my mums dining room and drinking milk when they did at 4 years old😂 life just gets so depressing in so many aspects so finding your way back to childhood and positivity where you can is absolute blessing xx

Hey mark I work for Costa the Costa cream is not vegan they have a light dairy swirl made with skimmed milk and then regular cream made with pouring cream. I was also told the lil gingerbread man was made with milk. I’ll double check today ❤
I can vouch for that, Costa do not have a vegan cream and the mini Gingerbread are not vegan, also the Toblerone sauce contains milk. (I work for Costa) ❤
I also work for Costa and no we don’t sell vegan cream and technically the toblerone latte isn’t vegan since is made with honey flavoured syrup 😢 Mark, if you want to have vegan gingerbread from costa the Santa gingerbread is an option!

I got rid of all of my social media (insta, facebook, etc), and I haven't looked back!! Still obviously have UA-cam, but my mental health if so much better without SM, I have an hour or two back into my life every day, and I can't imagine having your job!!
It is because we went through and are still in a pandemic we revert to happy feelings and often things from childhood make us happiest because we are not responsible for anything and we are care free of grown people's obligations and it is an easy feeling to tap into to help destress and relax and give us that innocent euphoria.

I can vouch for that, Costa do not have a vegan cream and the mini Gingerbread are not vegan, also the Toblerone sauce contains milk. (I work for Costa) ❤
I also work for Costa and no we don’t sell vegan cream and technically the toblerone latte isn’t vegan since is made with honey flavoured syrup 😢 Mark, if you want to have vegan gingerbread from costa the Santa gingerbread is an option!

I work at costa and omg you defo need to try the Toblerone hot chocolate if you haven’t already 🤩i think it’s nicer than the latte but then again everyone has their own preference hehe, you can never go wrong with the gingerbread and cream latte also 😍💘

I got rid of all of my social media (insta, facebook, etc), and I haven't looked back!! Still obviously have UA-cam, but my mental health if so much better without SM, I have an hour or two back into my life every day, and I can't imagine having your job!!
It is because we went through and are still in a pandemic we revert to happy feelings and often things from childhood make us happiest because we are not responsible for anything and we are care free of grown people's obligations and it is an easy feeling to tap into to help destress and relax and give us that innocent euphoria.

I fully get what you mean about hairdressers there are some amazing talented hairdressers but I’m honestly not for it 😂 when I was four I had an awful experience with a hairdresser my mum took me too and think that’s just made my anxiety with hairdressers worse! Go for the Christmas feels love it I’m so excited and this Chanel is about you and what you enjoy and in many many years to come things to look back on and go wow I did have fun so you do you :) love the content anyway and from meeting you your just an amazing kind and funny person ❤ always here x
