it says it on his passive, "Pyke also converts his bonus health into bonus attack damage instead".
so basically health and ad is good in him, which makes him more broken since his the only assassin with a health to ad conversion.
He can't be a tank read his passive no bonus health from items
But at level 18 he has like 2800 health base, build resistance to go with that and get the ad from his passive.
BadOsu Player Just stack resistances fool. He has a very respectable base health pool.

i think his passive is bugged though sometimes it just gives you random health
2400, and if you want to see how tanky you would be with that health and resistances only, go into a custom with alistar and see how tanky you are with ult only. It's not nearly as good as you seem to believe.

Just an fyi to those that dont know, Pyke cannot be built tanky. Because of his passive, any extra source of health, whether it be from items or runes, will be translated as AD. He can build armor, however I assume that this passive will still make him squishy.
Pyke/Draven would be a strong snowball duo, it's confirmed that kills with Pyke's ult will proc Draven's adoration gold
Pyke design was like:

The clip you were talking about Ashe not using any summs, the Rammus flashed into her with his q into the Pyke stun, which was followed by the Rammus taunt, so Ashe was at 1/4 by the time she wasn't cc'd anymore.

In that clip with Ashe and Rammus, Rammus flashed as Pyke did and taunted Ashe while she was stunned so she didn't have the opportunity to do much until she was at like 30% health.

Pyke also as the ability to convert Bonus HP into AD apparently. Might be the only Assassin who actually wants a Frozen Mallet in his build somewhere.

QT says he will be a tank top or jungler. What he didn’t read was that Pyke passive is that he doesn’t gain bonus health from items, instead all bonus health is now bonus AD. That means building warmogs and just being a tank top is out of the question. Also Pykes clear speed is abysmal and he looses too much health to jungle anywhere above bronze 2. Riot is trying to change the game and make support enticing by reinforcing “kill lanes” (remember old graves and Leona bot?) this is a refreshing change to the bot lane, and also relieves auto filled supps with a champ they can still go out and slay on.

I am definetly gonna play pyke alot when he comes out, as a support main I was waiting for this kind of support I can play besides my other supports, can't wait.
I don’t think he is one but you could argue all his abilities have support possibilities. In bot lane and around the map there’s always the threat of him being invisible somewhere and then appearing to then stun multiple targets. Followed by a slow or ‘hook’. Ult doesn’t make much sense but the kill sharing thing is good for bot also.

The champ preview wasn't half-assed, I think they probably found the metric that showed that nobody actually gives a shit about the lore or fluff, so they cut it out and just streamlined it, cause that's what the players want honestly.

I'd like to call into the court evidence A-Z of every new champ coming out and QT hating it initially only to come back to it a month or two later and loving the champ.

Pyke will be a support primarily. Of course he'll see play in other roles until people figure out how terrible it is. His passive is useless in other positions and makes it very hard for him to get tank stats (but QT doesn't read so he spreads misinformation that people just eat up), he has a very hard time solo killing anyone even with damage items. If a champ can't lane, they're not viable right now, and Pyke in a solo lane sucks.
Oh, that was before they updated his passive info: He converts bonus health into bonus AD.
I love how QT says Pyke will be either trash or OP, like, no shit, he's gonna be one or the other on release until they tune him on the next patch after his release.

Rammus flashed. And then taunted ashe. Sona got ignited. And I'm pretty sure I saw a heal dropped either by or onto ashe just as sona used her heal. Also heal/exhaust combo isn't exactly uncommon even with the heal nerf and ignite buff (hence them not igniting rammus). Which is why she stood there. Not using summs. She got taunted and stunned by pyke (and also sounded like she used heal as well). Granted she had about a 1.5 second window before she died she could have used to flash out because they didn't chain their cc properly on her. But damn. Definitely a lot more happened than them just standing there dying xD
Riot saw people taking Annie and Brand bot and were like "That's a great idea! Who needs an ADC?"
The true crime here is that qt watched the videos in 360p instead of 720 or 1080.
I mean, I don't mind teaser footage of champs that actually makes them look good/OP.
Far better than the days of Illaoi's trailer, where she literally uses all of her summ and spells and her opponent just sort of walks away from her.
While the R assist passive is cool, he'd be a terrible support as he has no poke, is too squishy to support his all-ins nor has any utility. A champion like Nami for example is extremely squishy but has great utility and decent poke, or a champion like Alistar is completely useless sitting behind his minions but unrivaled when it comes to all-inning. Mixes such as Rakan or Bard also exist. Pyke would probably excel at as a snowbally early game jungler.
when a new champion comes out, you're the only sub I watch that champ on
He can't be a jungler nor a top lane because:
a) he does not get bonus hp from items (instead he gets bonus ad), he gets hp only from level growth.
b) his hp regen passive only works when you get damaged by champions, it does not work with monsters.

If you know Slark and Bounty Hunter, Pyke is basically a fusion of those. That's Riots new motive "Hey know what would be really smart? Instead of ripping off a hero, we just rip off TWO at the same time and combine em into one, they'll never know." No beef though, I like this idea. Anyway, here's how Pyke will work:
The Bounty Hunter Aspect: Roaming support, we're bringing it back bois. He's gonna stay in one lane for a bit, do his thing, then move on to help others and seek targets with the Ult, which is Bounty Hunter on crack. Full kill gold and credit but ALSO a finisher. Damn. Did I mention he got voicelines for leaving lane? Yeah.
The Slark Aspect: Slipperly assassin that will annoy the fuck out of you. But he still a supp, so it won't get too rediculous. I think Pyke will bring a whole new approach to supporting. But thats just my observation so far. He's the perfect fusion of what Slark and BH do in their turf.

Pyke can't build bonus health, so he can't be played top. Bonus health gets converted into AD, as also similarly seen with the CDR rune that gives you *adaptive* damage once you overcap.
Qt should've messaged Mark "Tryndamere" his thoughts about Pyke and see what he had to respond back to him xD

pykes numbers are really good right now, early his damage isnt enough to 1v1 but mid to late he can carry, but he wont be a toplaner cause he cant gain bonus hp (he has the highest base hp in the game) his bonus hp turn into ad at a slightly lower gold value then normal. etc ruby crystal turns into 10 ad same as long sword, frozen mallet is 80 ad in total (which is actually really good gold value)
jeremiah lemke his ad scaling is getting nerfed on release it’s in patch notes so he won’t scale as good last game his ult scaling is getting nerfed to

Pyke actually feels pretty weird/bad to play. If they bump raw damage numbers there’s no way in hell he sticks with support.
He’s just really awkward to play. Poor matchups 2v2 with emphasis on roaming in a non-roaming meta with sightstone quest. Really awkward build paths. Also super squishy so you can’t be the primary engage (assassin duh but with engage/stun abilities). His ult is super fun tho with a longer reset cd than I thought.
Pyke lore is just Nautilus lore minus the memory loss wtf....

The encouragement to play him as support is your team gets 250 extra gold for each kill... and he has no clear so he can't go jungle. If he was mid only kills with the jg would make use of his passive.

i think you dont play around his passive and just spam resistances and cooldownreduction he doesnt need AD to do his job CDR to stun and hook more often is the key
