This was a good episode. Gosh I miss gene. What a great man. Brett and Charles too. I hope that where ever they are they know we still love and missed. Richard too.
This was a great episode. The panel seemed fairly up, good energy overall, Gary and Mary are terrific guests, the contestants are nice, the fellow has a fun personality, Gene is goofy without overdoing it. One arguable judgement call by Ira, but what else is new. Yea, Match Game!
I would have to say Charles said that on purpose 😂 he knew exactly what he was doing. That’s why Gene was trying to figure out if he wanted to comment as he walked down to the lower tier 😂🤣

Well interestingly, at this point she was recently married to William Asher the famous producer and husband of Elizabeth Montgomery of Bewitched. Elizabeth Montgomery came up on the audience match question last episode. I was wondering how Joyce felt about that.
Some of these people are actors because I seen DAVID before, and that was in match game 76! He was also wearing the same jacket! And that older guy buzz I knew I seen it before and I just turned on the TV yesterday because I saved match games, and I seen buzz again! There’s a lot of people that they call back that they don’t mention that they call them back
There was a time I was at the mall, and there was a gentleman there sitting down selling tickets. He was 6'10. I stood up and chatted with him (I'm 5'3) and I was still eye level with him.
I hope to see this guy stand up next to Gene to compare height. Gene claimed to be 6'1. But seemed like most women even wearing flat shoes, were near his height. It made me think he exaggerated his height.
H/H match update: ... ~~~Today's action: In the final moments of the previous program, our champion was defeated, but she spun off with a big smile after having won four games and $7,000. Today we begin with a brand-new champion trying her luck and skill at the Super-Match. *Today's audience match question: "Lighter________"* (My thoughts: Fluid, than air, ???) The celebs: Richard (Fluid), Charles (Than Air), Brett (And Lighter) The choice: Fluid The answers: Than Air, Than a Feather, Fluid If I had to bet, of course I'd bet that our champion continues the tradition of calling on Richard even though he has the worst track record of the four celebs on the panel who have answered a H/H question. Yawn. This is King Richard's 18th consecutive time answering the head-to-head question. He's matched six of those 18 times so far. Stats: Richard has matched 93 of his 223 most recent attempts (41.7%), 76 of his last 180 attempts (42.2%), 32 of his last 83 attempts (38.6%), and 13 of his last 39 attempts (33.3%). His overall success rate is *41.6%* and this is his 701st attempt so far. For the sake of comparison: Joyce has matched 3 of her 4 attempts (75%), Charles has matched 33 of his 69 attempts (47.8%), Brett has matched 30 of her 70 attempts (42.9%), and Richard has matched 291 of his 700 attempts (41.6%). Mary Wickes and Gary Crosby haven't answered any H/H questions yet. *Today's H/H question: "Booby________"* (The second I heard this one, I was convinced we'd have a match today. Booby trap. Then I thought of booby prize and I was less sure. It'll be interesting to see which way they go, at least. I'll stick with my first thought.) Richard takes a bit longer to write his answer than I would have guessed. He files it with a look of grim determination. I imagine he's thought of both answers too and isn't sure which to write. Our champion quickly gives my predicted answer. Well, she and I match (and the audience goes absolutely wild with applause). Let's see what Richard says... Huh?! I would have bet big money! But no, Richard went with a third answer: "Hatch"! (This time the contestant clearly gave the better answer.) No H/H match today. ~~~Here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts). Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts). Fannie - 48.3% (14 wins in 29 attempts). Charles - 47.8% (33 wins in 69 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Brett - 42.9% (30 wins in 70 attempts). Richard - 41.5% (291 wins in 701 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1054, excluding the missing/damaged/unavailable episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, 910, 1024, 1025, 1026, 1027, 1028, 1029, and 1030. *Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. (These stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969. Note: There was no H/H in missing episode 1035, as we learn in 1036.)
When I heard the question, I thought it would be an easy match with Booby Trap today. My second choice was Booby Prize. The audience gave the loudest round of applause for her answer that I've heard in a long time, and I was sure Richard would nail this one. Then he said it was "one or the other" so I figured he went with Prize. But "Hatch"? Yikes.
Why does Match Game pick other celebrities except Dawson? Seems he is the only one every contest pick and not pick anyone else! And he losses again! He does not win all the time, but girls and men pick him anyway because they want to kiss him! Happens all the time.. when you get a chance , watch every game you see..
Nestor - actually they pick Richard because he wins or at least thoughtfully tries to win them money. Really don’t know what shows you’re watching. Blitzburgh - you need to reduce YOUR meds - perhaps it will clean up your mouth or improve your vocabulary!!!

… and Gene banters with a member of the crew.
The writers missed the boat by going with "injured" chickens, since they're not dead it's a little tougher to answer chicken in a "casket"
Very good pronounciation, Gene (9:16)! But in Germany we don't use "Volkswagen" very often. Usually we say "VW" (fow vay).
I didn't know Rick Wakeman was a contestant on Match Game.
a response like ''rear-ending'', today, would elicit a completely different response - from EVERYONE!!.....

Booby trap was the only answer, Richard blew that one...
booby prize is the obvious one.
I thought of two at the same time, hatch and trap. Usually I am dead on with Richard.
He did that on purpose looks like.

I miss Earl. Alas, I think he's no longer with the company.
I thought someone posted that he was let go. Something happened but idk what
I read that Richard poached him to run the board on Family Feud.
I just saw where Joyce was married to Dan-o (James McArthur) from Hawaii 5-0.

It's “Light as a feather.”
What’s the record for the number of tiebreakers needed to win a game?
I've seen 2 at the most.
Pretty sure I’ve seen it go to three.
You know you're tall when even sitting down you're almost as tall as the other contestant...
