Happy New Year An x Lovely to see all your new little birds. I can't wait to see the aviary all clean, set up and ready for all the birds to move back in again.
@@Echosaviary Not for a while yet I'm afraid. Perhaps April, but April can also be a very brutal month here with snow and gales. But fingers crossed that won't happen this year. I was driving my daughter home earlier and the temperature outside was minus one degree, so freezing tonight. Also some snow. On the plus side, I can see a little more daylight returning, yippeeee. I don't like the dark of the winter months. It only gets light around 9.00am and dark again around 3.30, so getting the light back is fantastic. x
@@Echosaviary 🤣 I wish !!! If anything I need to get on your waitlist for that species. Ive been hoping we get something new from africa but all that is shutdown for the time being ☹️
Hi, its Peter again I will ask you in one video you showed us a rubber ball with hole and you said you gonne try to use them for nest to the birds, how did that go? Best regards Peter from Norway.
Good question- it was terrible. Material was treated with something very smelly, (probably mint-like smell intended to improve dog’s breath or something) Birds would not go near it (not sure if otherwise problematic as well). Aired it out for a year outside, tried to cleaning etc. and no improvement. Would have been perfect otherwise (I think).
You make even cleaning look fun. Congratulations on the new species, the new babies, and setting up the Aviary. Can't wait to see the new version...
Oh for sure Doug, it’s a blast! Come on down , I’ll save you some scrubbing! 🤣🤣🤣
Amazing. You make breeding the rare species look easy. I’m so happy for your success.
Happy New Year An x

Haha, the comment about keeping ones mouth shut during cleaning is so true. But poopy water in the eye still happens.
Ha! Yes i suppose a hazmat suit would be appropriate!
Love it
Amazing job like always !!!
Thanks-let me know if you have a secret stash of Peters somewhere!

Hi,,, greetings from South Africa.
When will you be making a video on the peters twinspots breeding? Thanks
Working on it…. But keep in mind, new species to me so if you are looking for experienced advice there are better resources.
@@Echosaviary thanks
@@Echosaviary where can I find these better resources?
What’s happening with the finch keeping legislation? And do you have any information on it?
so in the US, it has all been finalized. The best source is the AVA or OPA as they have published excellent summaries (or can go to USDA direct).
