Not really!! The Animals made a fast cover of it , but originally it's from Nina Simone recorded in 1965!!
While this one is an oldie from the 60's Kevin did a lot to it to make it uniquely his. I have to agree that his vocals (and the rest of his insane talent) just keep getting better and better. Kevin is one of my all time favorite artists
If I'm not mistaken, I believe Santana did this or a version of it. . . correction: the version I am familiar with was by Santa Esmerelda. . .
@@dianericciardistewart2224 The original artist was Nina Simone but it was first made a hit by Eric Burdon and the Animals later that same year (mid 1960's). It has been covered many times by many artists over the years.
@@rayraudebaugh5395, yes, after I looked it up. I realized the one I was actually thinking of was the Santa Esmerelda one -- my personal fave. There certainly were a lot of covers of the song!! LOL!! Thanks for replying!! 🎵🎵🎵

The Animals first made this song popular back in 1965. I was about seven or eight years old when it came out and I remember my older brother listening to this song. It’s always been one of my favorites. It has been covered by a number of different artists, but the one people remember the most is the one done by The Animals. I do really like Kevin’s version of it. I think he did a very good job.

Jerod M - KO is very good with the instruments and the synthesizer and all of that jazz that he puts into his music. I really enjoy listening to him do these old classics and put his personal spin on them. He’s very talented. But then of course we know that because he shares the stage with four other equally talented musicians that we all love.😉
The style of this cover, and I mean this in the best way, it gives me Goldfish vibes. I would actually LOVE to see them collab
Kevin's running his voice through a high-pass filter or EQ to make it sound more "lo-fi" on this one. I think the effect comes across more like that he has a weird cold, but his choices on these covers are always interesting. I listened to this on repeat for about an hour when I found out about it. The cello solo is SO GOOD, I just wish it was longer.

Hey, Jerod! Been a while! Excellent reaction video. I replied to Ray's response that if I'm not mistaken, Santana did this or a version of it. I do remember this song growing up. It was actually one of my faves growing up!! Keep 'em coming!! Kevin is totally amazing!! 💖🎵💖🎵 ----- just googled it -- it was the Santa Esmerelda version that I was familiar with not Santana. .
