Yep, that's Japanese all right. The kana (less complex-looking "runes") give it away. The text on the front reads "Haikara (high-color?) pencil holder", on the bottom left it says "pencil included" and on the right, "red" within the red square. Couldn't figure out the rest, sorry. At least you found out it's by Tohkin! Sounds like a comfortable instrument. The metal/wood interface may not be uncomfortable but could be distracting, so I suppose it'd take some getting used to. Hopefully it doesn't wobble with really really short stubby pencils. I'm also only guessing here, but the eraser could be loose for the sake of replaceability. It'd be strange for a Japanese export nowadays to be poorly made by mistake. For an intense pencil user like you, this is a big boon. Will it have its own spot in the pencil cup?
Hi DFT! Thanks for some interpretations! It is a very comfortable instrument to use. The grip mechanism is pretty solid and it seems to hold very short pencils securely. It makes sense that the eraser on this holder is intended to be replaceable like so many of the mechanical pencils from Japan. Yes, this is in my pencil cup! Thanks!
Just love ur handwriting
Best handwriting in the world❤
Thank you so much, Jay! I appreciate you watching!
Nice video
Thanks, egweee!

It's always the Japanese who comes up with neat widgets like this!
