- The Classic Sony ICF-2010 Shortwave Portable Radio is taken out for a Evening visit on the Medium Wave band. The radio is very sensitive on all the bands, and it does not disappoint :) This portable is a must for Sony Shortwave Radio Collectors and those who want one of the best ever produced.
The Terk Advantage Passive Loop was at the ready, but not required. The built in Sync Detection circuit helps tremendously while tuning the crowded, night time broadcasts.

Overall, the radio is worth every penny on the secondary market. I'm actually thinking of trying to find a second one, it is that good.

I love the Sony radios. I have the: ICF-7600G & ICF-7600GR, both with SYNC. During the 80s, I dreamed of getting the ICF-2010.
I had a ICF-7600GR for close to 20 years and it was still working perfectly when I sold it a couple years back. Sony can certainly make a well built radio!
Amazing! I've forgotten about this Sony. Felt like a blast from the past! Thank you for the scanning event!!
Clicking like before even watching the video!
Excellent radio lot of dxing and super signal catcher
The Air Band is also AM! (Lots of people don't know that...)
Indeed. I do know that because I’m in East Missouri and pick up air band signals from KC! I’m near St. Louis.
@@RJDA.Dakota What type of radio do you use for that?
@@ac2-rm141 I don’t live far from the Spirit of St. Louis Airport. I can sometimes hear KC. I receive it on the XHData D 808. That’s actually not bad for what it is. Unfortunately I don’t have a scanner.
What a great radio and review.
Over 20 years old works great
I got KTNN from Window Rock on 660 AM.
Not sure if I'm correct but if there are 2 stations on the same frequency you can use loop antana to eliminate the unwanted station In favour of the wanted station by rotating loop Ariel as well as the radio itself.
I used to have one of these radios but with the name 2001D which is the model number in Europe but exactly the same radio.wish I still had the radio.
Does this have more featured and is generally better than the Tecsun PL 660?
It is better, but for size the 660 wins that category.
Hiya!! I now own a bunch of radios. It seems you own 100x more than I do. 🤡 how long is a radio expected to last of cares for correctly? I know it’s equivalent to how long is a piece of string, but if you had to give averages…. For example I have a Sony 7600gr. I use it a couple times a week for about 1 hour a time to keep everything juiced up. But I have a pl-660 I use with headphones at night for hours. What type of life should I expect out of a typical radio?
Easily Twenty Plus years on most Analog radios, then a recap can keep them going for another Twenty. As far as digital radios, Fifteen to Twenty is a fair estimate. Some brands work well after that allotted time, some die.
@@todderbert that was quick!! So is that 20 years of use or 30 years from production?
@@franciscole3039 from heavy use. also digital radios have more to go wrong with them, displays/buttons fail and are usually not an easy fix.
@@todderbert thanks
Not a cheap radio all working or not.
