I thought they weren't because they've flowered in the past and I haven't seen any seedlings. From research I've discovered that most forms of Drosera binata don't self pollinate. However can you believe that just yesterday I came across a pitcher plant from my nursery that had about 20 Drosera binata seedlings around the base? It seems that the plant I have in my nursery does self pollinate!. Happy growing!
@@succulentflytraps oh really I also did some digging and they said that most of them does not self pollinate so whenever I see a d. Binata flower I cut it off. So should I try letting it produce seeds. Cuz I am just afraid the flower might draw a lot of energy from the plant
@@kyawthuta9058If you want to find out if your plant self pollinates then you'll have allow the flowers to develop. Once they do flower be vigilant for any seedlings or just experiment. Once you're sure no self pollination occurs then you can confidently cut off the flowers. It all depends though what you to do ...allow your plant to grow or experiment with seeds. Happy growing !
Where I live in Sydney, NSW the climate here is very similar to where VFT come from in North and South Carolina. That means I can enjoy leaving my plants outside all year round and seeing them catch their own prey......happy growing !

Well, if you started out with more than one D. binata, then it didn’t self-pollinate; it pollinated with the other one.
How do you deal with vft dormancy needs, considering australian climate?
