I've rode the light rail a few times while visiting Seattle, very comfy, cheap and convenient.

Like this. I actually live in northwest Germany (Northwest connection right there!) but my heart has been beating ever more for Seattle these last 3 months. I have watched a shitload of these sorts of videos from the Hamburg rapid transit (S-Bahn) network. Much more extensive there but Seattle's trains and stations seem a whole lot cleaner and slicker. I hope they carry out the proposed extensions in the good old Emerald City.

Wow, the station is nice and clean looking.. i am sure there are probably stations that are ghetto, but nice to see a clean one with well taken care of trains..

D G Seattle’s metro is new and it’s not a compromise unlike most city’s tram-like options. Having part of it shared with busses was a temporary compromise to get it built, but now that over and the system is moving onto its second line

I wish this would go to a lot more places not just from A to B, well i guess why we have busses to. The light rail down in Portland goes all over their city I was tempted to move back there however seeing as how they have the Massive Homeless (BUM) problem seems unlikly, not that we dont here in seattle but omg they are everywhere down there and they are not even from the Oregon area. go figure.

Seattle's light rail system is a lot newer than Portland's. Once all of the planned extensions are completed, the light rail system will be much more extensive than it is now.

What type of company was this train brought from?

Japanese-based consortium Kinkisharyo-Mitsui was chosen to design and manufacture low-floor light rail vehicles (LRVs) and provide additional equipment and support. (Sound Transit PR)

Dude, it's called a LIGHT RAIL, not a subway.

    • @sumatanjunior231

Light rail is the class of rail and locomotive/train... subway is where it operates. Same as the underground here in the UK. Subway is just the American way of saying what we call the underground. So yes, this light rail train is passing in the subway. Ah. A simple google would suffice.

@@sumatanjunior231 subway refers to heavy rail below ground, over and elevated. light rail is just a small version of heavy rail shorter distance small train cars and train sets.

Most of Sound Transit light rail is above ground, but the part that goes through downtown Seattle is below ground, so it could rightly be considered a subway in that section. :)
