A couple things (from someone with 30+ years in the field). Resistance welding does not "melt" the materials being joined. They are heated to a plastic state and forged with pressure of the electrodes. When the material is heated to melting point, there is usually a large amount of expulsion. Expulsion is not desirable. The electrodes are a copper alloy. Pure copper is too soft to be used in a production environment. Tongs are only used in the smallest of welders. Typically they are called "arms". and may be up to 4-6" in diameter for really big machines. Seam welding rollers are called wheels, and are made from the same copper alloys as spot welding electrodes. Usually, the wheels are forged to improve life. You can imagine those wheels are very expensive.
Because without overlapping you cannot join them. In other types of welding processes, we provide filler materials but in the resistance welding process, we overlap thin sheets on their edges and make a current pass through them, by doing so there is heat generated at that point and both the plates melt and fuse...
Thank U for making it super easy

Thank you
Thanks man😊
Oh plastic state, if they do not melt how will they become plastic, just wondering 🤔
Melting means its heating more than melting point in this we do only upto plastic state only@@ojihmona2056
Very useful for exams sir🎉🎉
Thank you, sir. I am an Engineering student and I covered my all confusion from your channel. Thank you, dear sir.

Thank you for explaining this concept in easiest way possible...
Very well understood..
Very helpful and straightforward!
Thank you for your support sir 🙂🙂
Plasma arc welding video plz
Very good video for understanding
Thank you such a nice explanation sir☺️😊👍.
Soooo goooood!
thanks to give a shortcut lecture .3 in 1
Thankyou so much for this video ❤️

What is the meaning of semi-killed person at 4:32 ?
The person who knows very little or no technical details about that machine...
Superb
why the plates are overlapped up to some extent?
Because without overlapping you cannot join them. In other types of welding processes, we provide filler materials but in the resistance welding process, we overlap thin sheets on their edges and make a current pass through them, by doing so there is heat generated at that point and both the plates melt and fuse...
Good but some thing left like definition of source or supply Ac Or Dc.
Hello Sir,
I'm from Automobile motor manufacturing industry,
We faced welding issue in our spot welding process, My doubts are cleared.
🙇 Thank You 🙇
