Good review. I've had mine in .177 since late January. I find the best pellets are the JSB 8.44gn. Straight out the box, cleaned the barrel and fitted an old 6-24 x50 scope I had laying around just to try. 10 shots in .14 centres at 25yds.(done better since on a couple of occasions). SInce then single hole groups out to 35yds. Havent had the chance for longer distance yet. Box catches are awful and wont take the rifle scoped. I love the look and no regrets. For £670 I would be hard pushed to find something I like better that shoots as well. One proble with a failed rubber seal on the bottle end. Easily sorted. Only thing I've changed is to switch the handle to the left side. Bottle can be changed..but why? Replacement bottles cost more than a 7ltr tank unless someone can find cheaper than I can....
Had mine a couple of months, case lasted 2 days, in .177 found a barrel clean transformed accuracy. One issue is magazines are too loose and will move if the gun is canted.
Hi I have one of these and it is a nice gun. It is very loud and if you put a silencer on it does not make it any quieter because of the holes in the rear of the shroud. The air and noise is sent back down the shroud so a silencer does not work. I have 3D printed a TPU rubber band that covers the holes in the shroud and now it is very quiet with a silencer on now. I am selling them on ebay as well as an ambidextrous cheek piece and a magnetic Fill cover. Great vid cheers Tim
i have one in 177 knocked the safety one the table it bent half a millimeter and it don't work so had to remove it if you let the air drop below reg pressure rifle will leak and if you fire it with no air in it the valve seat will dislodge if you point the gun upwards while pulling the loading lever back pellets can fall into the hammer and jam the action but the gun is very accurate if used with out doing the things mentioned above it will work just fine hope this helps anyone thinking of buying one.
hi rack i have enjoyed your review ,i brought a .22 ixia a couple of months ago i paid £ 670 .00 for mine i love it you can not go wrong for the price .i gave the barrel a clean and set up the trigger and have fired 1500 pellets getting 5 pence groups at 35 yds . i have to agree with you on the case the latches are crap and i did not like the safety ,it has the looks of the fx /delta wolf and shoots great as well for the third of the price of the other guns
incredibly accurate isn't it. this is my first pcp and fucking hell i get 4 shot 5p groups at 25m as a newb im sure i didnt know how to zero but this rifles shown me i could
@@pablomansini6449 i won a competition last Sunday at my local club first time there i shit you not my instructor was having a go and pretended to run off with it 😂
Took mine out for first time today. To start with was a bit disappointed firing all over the place( cleaned barrel last night) then changed pellets and 5p groups all afternoon. I guess it just likes different pellets to my other rifle, I did find the ones it didn’t like didn’t load smoothly where as the JSB exacts loaded as smooth as. What pellets were you using?
Great review Neil, as always, i quite like this, in fact i quite like the whole Reximex range, this one clearly copy's the styling from FX & Daystate , but that's no bad thing in my book😁
Good review Neil, the case could be ok, but the catches are rubbish, I have the 177 Ixia, I have had it about a month. I have had problems similar to you. The mags / pellet probe seem to be the main issue with this gun. Mine I have striped down the mags and cleaned up the plastic inside. Also the small Mag ball bearing locator/ detent in the mag slot in the gun works loose. Need some thread lock on, also side lever pivot screw come loose, needs thread lock on that to. The rifle is no light weight and that unscoped. But the silencer already built in the shroud is a waist of time. What I have done is removed the barrel shroud taped up the air stripper with duck tape. Refitted shroud and it's own silencer back on. Then fitted a silencer and tested, no tape on the outside shroud needed. This has made it super silent, with no issues with accuracy. This rifle shoots standard JSB 8.44 & QYS streamline @ 40 yards 5 shot groups under a 5p. The lads who have shot this rifle at my gun club at Atherton love this gun. For around £670.00 and a bit of time to get the niggles out of the way. Getting to know this gun, I am well impressed with how it shoots. I can understand your reservation in your review, I had the same thought's. I have fitted a Riton X7 34mm scope on top and this is one heavy scope, but very clear. I use this rifle for bench shooting of a bipod, it would be to heavy to go hunting with this set up.
It's good to hear a reviewer speaking about quality issues on these new to market rifles , all other English reviews have been a bit to positive for me to believe the reviews were unbiased , And as always in racks comments section fellow subscribers give their experiences of the same model that Neil's reviewing , your comments are super useful to me and I'm sure quite a few others ,I've been keeping my eye on the reximex PCP range ,I like the look of this and the myth ,but I'm holding off until the mk 2 version comes out ,or at least a slightly updated and re worked versions hit the market , I've made the mistake of jumping in and buying brand new designed guns that are new to market , the very first FX verminator MK2 in 177 ,and the impact mk1 in .177 , I had a nightmare with both , the verminator was the first FX to get the ( new at the time 11 years ago) smooth twist barrel ,Ben Taylor had just sold the design and patent to FX , and in sub 12 .177 they were awful ,the accuracy was all over the place , it did get sorted but it took 12 months of sending it back and forth to the then importer ASI, although I still ended up getting it fully tuned and serviced by Ben Taylor himself ( at great expense ),then the impact was super accurate but the amount of leaks coming from all over the rifle were insane , out of 12 months the gun was at the distributers for 5 of them , it was never a ending nightmare, I got it fully serviced new seals working properly but by that time I'd fallen well out of love with it so sold it and lost 400 quid , so I always wait at least 12 months now.
Well the throne/throne2 has/have not been modified for the UK and other markets unless I believe one needs to obtain a FAC for it in your country. Never the less, a nice PCP.
Have an FAC version on order from August, I am told these ( in FAC) are still NOT in the UK. Could you (anybody ) kindly measure from the end of the bottle to the end of the barrel, I want to know if a 400mm 700cc bottle will fit, without extending past the barrel. As for the case, I gave up on that already, I understand a scoped rifle won't fit🥴. Gotta say, you did not sound convinced by the Rifle, but, thanks for the review.
@@aboutthemetal8783 hello about the metal, A standard ALU 425cc is about 295mm, the 700cc 400mm, so roughly 100mm difference or 4" in old money. Looking at the video, I figured the barrel sticks out 75mm to 100mm, Your guess is?. Thanks.
Hi Neil. Does adjusting the hammer spring change the muzzle energy much, as you said it’s set to maximum? The H&N Pellets are harder than the JSB/AA equivalent, and the head size does make a difference. I have tested many different pellets in my wife Kral Jumbo in .22 Cal, (same magazine) and the softer (and longer) pellets do feed better than shorter harder ones. Nice review.👍
Agreed the case is crap. I just put a dab of araldite on the end of the hinge pins from inside the case and problem solved. Shouldn’t have to do that I know but needs must…
