I totally agree with everything you said at the beginning for the disclaimer, i would only add that the amount you feed is also extremely important because far too many people overfeed their pets causing many health issues that would be avoided had they only been feeding the proper amount

Yes, regarding resource issues. I am doing resource training with my new standard poodle puppy, because our Ariel would try to swallow huge things whole if you got too close. So everyone knew to give her space. It was scary. She wasn’t aggressive, but it was dangerous.
I would also recommend all pet owners know how to give the Heimlich maneuver to dogs. I saved a mini poo and our red standard poodle with this technique. Also, please do not feed your dogs rawhide from pet and grocery stores; it is so toxic. There are so many great healthy chews, like the ones shown in this video.

Hello Rachel! I started watching your videos due to my new adopted furbaby being a picky/easily bored eater, and I am hooked on your videos. My previous rescue furbaby passed away at age 13 (we had him 11 1/2 years) this past February, right before the pandemic hit big. I thought my sons and I were never going to adopt again, because his loss was devastating to us. But fast forward to June, and we made the decision to adopt again. Bolt, our previous furbaby, literally ate anything and everything, and I never paid much attention to the type of kibble I gave him... Whatever was on sale. I am sorry to say. But I didn't think much of it. He was generally quite healthy as per his vet, and didn't even act his age most of the time. However, little did we know, a mass was growing inside him. The mass wound up rupturing and bleeding into his abdomen. One day, he was perfect, the next day, my boys were wailing as we said goodbye (my boys are 16 and 13), and their dad and I laid next to him as the doctor put him to sleep, and he peacefully went to heaven. Even writing this, I'm crying. But, there was a hole in our hearts, and we feel Bolt led us to our new furbaby Belle. My kids requested a new doggie that looked absolutely nothing like Bolt, which I was totally on board with. And while Bolt was a large 70 lb dog, black mouth cur/ probably shepherd type dog, Belle is and 8 1/2 pound soft little girl, we don't know what mix of breeds she is. She is a doll, is cuddly and fun, loves to snuggle. But is nothing like Bolt as far as food preferences. She gets bored easily. And hardly ate kibble. So I did some research, and started her on some fresh food. She like it at first, still kinda does, but is definitely bored. So I started mixing it with other things to peak her interest. But I did more research, and came across your videos. THANK YOU. I wonder if I found your videos before, if Bolt would have been with us longer. I know he was a senior, but still. I am committed to giving Belle the best possible diet. Today I mixed 50/50 raw and fresh. She ate all the raw first. :) She waited a while, leaving her bowl and then coming back to it, to eat the fresh. However, there is something that makes me nervous. I have heard you talk about dogs in the wild, like wolves, and I completely agree. But does it apply to small breed, what my kids and I call foo-foo type dogs as well? Belle is definitely more "foo-foo", and I didn't know if such a diet would be less beneficial for her. I am so confused! I'm sorry I am rambling, but I am not sure what to do. Do I switch her to completely raw like your bigger breed dogs? Do I mix raw and fresh? What are the best brands (I am a nurse and also back in school and do not have the time right now in my life to dedicate to DIY diets, so purchasing a brand would be best)? Please help me out with what to get for this little girl!
My lab is currently going through a few food allergies and can only eat venison, duck and salmon 😭 his allergy test confirmed he's allergic to chicken, turkey, beef, lamb, pork, white fish and rabbit as well as maize. He's currently on raw venison and duck 😍

@@traichle he has some veg mainly greens he can't have apple or peas as they seem to set off his allergies. He normally has green beans and carrots if he has veg.

I love the dehydrated vita essentials pig ears! They’re so much better than normal pet store bleached, greasy ears. They’re wonderful! Ill have to try the snouts. I also love their duck necks and duck hearts

Oooh! My dog absolutely loves his raw food diet! I’d like to say that when I went from kibble to raw, you could really notice the effects that came with the raw food (softer/shinier fur, better hygiene, etc.)! This video was _super_ informative and amazing...I LOVED IT ❤️😍

I’m currently fostering two wonderful senior doggies and we are considering adopting them. They are 15 and 10, we want to make sure they are being given an opportunity to be taken care of as best as possible in their golden years, after a lifetime of kibble though would it be okay to switch to a diet like this? I would obviously introduce it slowly but ultimately would their body be fit to one day go all raw or should we stick to high quality kibble+raw foods on top and as treats? After the battle with parvo vet fed Jase comm. food. I was told his digestive system would never be normal. Well myself never being a fan I started the transfer to raw it took 3 months and I will say Jase is a raw food dog and we goats milk for his probiotic ive watched many of your videos and I need to thank you for a very healthy crazy puppy I almost lost

Rachel, you’re the best dog mom ever!!!! 😍 We’re getting our first Boston terrier pup in about a week and just bought his Bones & Co. food and goats milk yesterday! Yay!!!! We have been binge watching every single one of your videos. They have saved our lives!!! 😂 Wanted to know if it’s ok to feed our new pup different proteins in a week or should we stick to just 1? We bought chicken and beef to start but definitely plan on buying more.

Currently the chews I'm giving my lab are venison skin air dried with nothing else in it he loves it and can take a few minutes to chew they do really big ones at the shop but worried it will be too much for him 😂
Thank goodness --- when I clicked on this video, I thought you were going to rave about a certain brand of kibble. Haha. RAW IS REAL & BEST!!! Thanks for sharing this message. Sadly, SO MANY vets are still totally against raw and freak out at their clients who want to feed raw. Our holistic vet was the one to actually get my girl on raw food shortly after we adopted her in 2019. BEST MOVE EVER. It's 1000x better for dogs to eat fresh, raw, real food. Eating kibble is like a human eating no fruits, veg, meat....just processed junk everyday. People need to stop and THINK. Thanks, Rachel! This message needs to get out there to everyone!!!
Thank you people are always saying I shouldn’t be feeding my dog raw food and it’s not good for them. My dog would put himself through hunger strikes and wouldn’t eat kibble when we found raw food he loves it he has a healthier coat and is happier

Hei Rachel! We tried swapping over to raw good with our dog, 2 year old Schapendoes, and gave her both koble and raw food for a while for the transition. We unfortunatly found that her stool was getting way too hard, especially the days when she almost ate only raw (shes doesnt always eat her kibble). Du you have any Experience with this kind of problem? Do you have any ideas? Otherwise love your channel!

Hello , I just found ur videos, and I have a 1 1/2 year old maltipoo and I live in the south and my dog has been dealing with allergies like scratching, biting his paws . My vet has suggested giving him a shot for allergies but I really don’t want to keep doing that . I was feeding him honest kitchen but the kibble was chicken. So now I change his kibble to acana just duck & pumpkin so I’m hopeing that will help him to stop being itching. If anyone has any advice I’d be appreciated thank u

I've completed a dog nutrition course (primordial and raw) and there was mentioned that too much fat in a dog's diet isn't natural (most wild prey animals aren't that fatty) and can canibalize proteins, minerals and whatnot. But then I remembered you mentioning that keto diet is high fat. How does this work out? Or is keto diet the same as a primordial (aka ancestral) diet? Thanks!

Same! I try not to feed my dog kibbles and other processed food because they could be full of preservatives. Instead, I make food that have brown rice with good amount of meat and veggies. Also, planning to make homemade treats with liver because I don't trust these store bought processed treats and secondly, they are costly.

She also plays very rough with my other dog like jumps and graves his face like it’s a toy, but he doesn’t yipe and he is super sweet and doesn’t want to hurt her.
