I'm 35, the last time I heard this song, I was 15. Now I understand what he means and i feel like he's singing about my life lol. Fred Durst was an underrated genius of his time and inspired a lot of great artists of our time now

Life was character people chose a persona, people had imagination and spent time alone with thier thoughts and music. Now its hollow and superficial as soon as someone knows what you'r up to on your face book feed they forget about you no reason to call you or have a face to face visit. It takes away the humane out of people.

Used to listen to this song all the time in highschool when I was getting bullied and always felt this song was about that year of hell. Now years later I still love this song and for anyone who gets bullied when you are younger hang on it gets better! Getting bullied pushed me to work out and become stronger then I have ever been! Saw my bully in town a few years ago and he wouldn't look me in the eye, probably didn't help I could snap him in half now.
Never was a fan of theirs much but this song is ACE. Very haunting.

I don't get it either. People say he is a horrible front man, and I completely disagree. I got to see a few of their shoes before they got famous, and he is an amazing performer. I was so happy they succeeded to the level they did.
