Shabad is by Gurmeet Singh Shanth, it is from one of the kavis of Guru Gobind Singh jis darbar, describing what happens when Maharaj and his singhs go into war... Vaheguru
Prasanna Bedh Interesting, the opposite approach to the west then, we achieved efficiency by locking the lance into place, so that the weight of the horse was carried through to the tip of the lance, essentially obliterating an opponent, but it also means the lance can only be used once. Your style doesn't seem as powerful on impact, but allows you to make many charges without losing your lance, so while you may not have the immediate power, that is irrelevant because you can make many passes. Would this be an accurate assumption?
The shabad is from chandi chritar, sangit bhujang prayat chandd- Jhagardang nagardang... Written by Satguru gobind singh ji. Jado gurmukhi(nanak) moti buddhi walay pandeyaa nu patakde ne, eho jehe bomb chalde man mukha de hirde wich. Gall nirakaar di hai.
WJKK WJKF, yes jhagardang nagardang is from sri dasam granth sahib ji and describes jang/war, please see bhai balbir singhs katha on this shabad.. these weapons make these sounds on the battlefield not just internally. I was reffereing to "canidoodo's" question, ith naubat gha na na - in this tarana, kavi from kagidars darbar is describing guru gobind singh in anandpur and the nagare/jakaare in war.. sada jai bhagaouti!
Thikk hai ji. jagardang nagardang is not about some war on battlefield, although when people do bir ras kirtan- they mistakenly associate the sounds with the sounds of iron swords... In reality, this is the war of chandi- Bibek buddhi, and the swords are the Matt(man Matts vs Gur mat), the clash of nanak with mullah, or jaganath pandit, or pakhandis. Dsam patshah wrote these vars in a manner that it gives brahm gyan, and at the same time provide with Bir ras, make one fearless. Guru Fateh jio
cathy5189 do u think people riding them are not taking any risk... These nihangs respect horses very much... Daily bathing of horses good quality food for horses... They prepare shardayi made of almonds, poppy seeds, watermellon seeds, milk etc for good health of horses..
