I like the simplified explanations. The second to the last example, I found the function to be even because i raised to 4th power first then do the radical root.

Number 4, shouldn’t the negative be eliminated by it being raised to an even power, thereby making the function even?
Putting 10x^(4/5) into a graphing calculator shows it as an even function, definitely not an odd.

Mario is wrong on #4, which is even. He moved the negative sign outside the parenthesis before taking the negative 5th root to the 4th (even) power. Check it on Desmos graphing calculator.

You made a mistake on the forth function, and it should an even function. I have verified it both graphically and algebraically. Its graph is symmetric with respect to y-axis.
