The Church of God Mountain Assembly (CGMA) is another H-P denomination, albeit small. They tend to be more conservative on dress. Also an even smaller group called the Free Will Baptist of the Pentecostal Faith Conference, mostly found in South Carolina, where they still have old Holiness standards. The COGOP didn’t permit jewelry until the general conference of 1993 when this rule was changed. But it was a controversial move. And a lot of old-timers still don’t even wear wedding bands. IPHC varies by congregation when it comes to things like jewelry and makeup… officially it’s allowed, but in more conservative churches the sisters tend to not wear makeup, and don’t wear pants to church.

@ReadyToHarvest thanks. Your researching of all these various sects and denominations is somewhat amazing. The Roman Catholic Church would say all these hundreds (or thousands) of Protestant sects and denominations, with all their varying tenets and doctrines PROVES the RCC is the only TRUE church. However, the worship of Mary (and promoting of Mary to co-redemptress); the idolatrous practice of the Eucharist- endlessly "re-sacrificing" Christ in a bloodless propitiatory sacrifice, and eating and worshipping a cracker which they claim has become the Body of Christ; the belief in Purgatory (and "indulgences" to rescue people out of purgatory); the worshipping of idols, and the promotion of a sinful man - the Pope- to be the HEAD of CHRIST'S Church- a man who stands IN THE PLACE OF CHRIST before the people (which is the LITERAL definition of ANTICHRIST) and calls himself "Holy Father" (the title reserved for God the Father ALONE), would seem to make their claim UN-TRUE.
@ReadyToHarvest Final comment- when are we going to see the definitive expose of exactly HOW Roman Catholic doctrine and practice radically DIFFERS from BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY?

The Church is the pillar and foundation of truth, 1 Tim 3:15, and the Church is the Final Authority, Matt 18:15-17. In 107AD, St. Ignatius of Antioch, a Bishop in God's Church, wrote a letter calling his Church "Catholic" or Universal. I don't agree with this interpretation, but it's based on 1 Timothy 2:9-10: I also want *the women to dress* modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, *not with* elaborate hairstyles or *gold or pearls* or expensive clothes, [10] but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
@@ZipplyZane I commend you both for your knowledge of the bible and your refusal to interpret it literally. Some nudists insist on wearing jewelry when participating in communal nudity because it shows that their nudity is not like the innocent nudity of very young children who have not yet learned to feel shame when naked in the presence of others. Rather, the wearing of jewelry when otherwise naked demonstrates that the nudists are well aware of the fact that they are nude but yet refuse to feel shame over it. As a Christian witch, I accept the fact that power can reside in physical objects, most especially in crystals. The frequent presence of gemstones in jewelry makes jewelry an excellent repository of spiritual power, and thus something that anyone who practices witchcraft would find useful in their practice. The nudists' attitude toward jewelry is also a good one for Christian witches to exploit in conjunction with our practice of being skyclad in our rituals because, if we accept the Christian idea that our bodies are the temple of the holy spirit, then sporting jewelry while being skyclad shows that our refusal to don clothing is a demonstration that we recognize that we are gods--since who lives in a temple but a god? I have encountered people in various covens I've been involved with who brought this negative attitude toward jewelry with them when they left mundane Christianity for Christian witchcraft. Of course, we witches tried to disabuse them of taking the scripture passage you reference literally. We have always been successful in this, but it wouldn't be Christian witchcraft without a variety of opinions on the subject.
