They really are a labour of love 😊
Stephanie these look FANTASTIC, OH YUM. THANK YOU FOR THE LESSON. WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS ALIVE I WOULD MAKE THESE ONCE IN A WHILE. I HAD A RECIPE THAT I WOULD FOLLOW BUT LOST MY RECIPE. NOW I HAVE YOUR RECIPE AND I CANT WAIT TO TRY THEM AGAIN. THANK YOU SWEET GIRL.
Now it's a whole bunch of love right there🥰. Nothing says love for family more than making dozens of tamales to share with family members. Just like when I would make my tea cakes I had to have a dozen for so many people. It was exhausting but well worth it to see so many happy faces🤗. And I must say that was the perfect masa to meet filling ratio. Nothing worse than getting a tamale and it's nothing but masa and a teeny bit of filling🤷
Definitely a Labor of Love! I love Tamales! I used to make them with my friends at Christmas time. I miss making them, may have to make my own. Thanks, Stephanie and family!
The tamales look amazing! You’re so sweet to share your labor of love with the whole family! God bless and love from Canadice NY ❤
OMG So much work, I never realised how much work went into a tamale which I have never tried but they do look delicious. I know everyone has enjoyed them. Have a great day.
My grandma from Mexico told me a trick she would clean and sterilize two pennies and she would place them at the bottom of the steamer. If she heard the pennies rattle then the water was good if not she would pour a bit of water in. She also would place a glass up in the center of the pot that gave a place to pour water if she needed to. Also she would do a masa float test. In a small glass cup she put pour water and drop a little ball of masa. If it float on the top masa was good if not then it need more time kneading the masa. Love making tamales I use a plastic putty knife.
It was very generous to spread the yummy to the rest of your family😊
Wow, when I asked if there was a recipe, I can’t believe you made a video, incredibly long process. Thank you. I can taste them from here.
What a wonderful tradition your family handed down to you Stephane. You’re amazing. Now im starving for tamales ❤Thank you for sharing.
Lots of work but worth they look delicious and everyone enjoyed which says it all. Well done Stephanie have a great day take care God bless 🙏💕🧑🏻🍳
Norma here
What a lot of steps and hard work, but from everyone’s reactions, well worth the time and effort. Believe it or not, I’m 71 and never tasted a tamale. I know I won’t attempt to make them, but I’ll make sure to find some somewhere.
I love when recipes and techniques are handed down and taught to the younger ones. You watched and listened well to your grandma and aunts.
I had a wonderful aunt named Olga. We always teased her for being a second generation Italian born on St Patrick’s Day and having a Russian name. lol
Awesome job, Stephanie and so sweet of you to share with the family.
Wish I were family. You and Buddy make some delicious looking food 😊
Steph I loved part 2, how you exsplain the recipe has been so good and easy to follow thank you so much
Wow, now I'm going to open up a can of Hormel tamales. Wish l was there to help you, Stephanie. I LOVE tamales. God bless you all and many prayers 📿 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ ✨️ 🙏🏻 ❤️
I used to do the Hormel canned tamales with a can of wolf brand chili on top of them with cheese and put it in the oven and let it bake. Yummy😋 That was in the early college days before I knew what real tamales were....
That's a lot of LOVE in each bite!!! 💕💖❤💘💝💓I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us!!! Have a great day!!!!

Good afternoon Stephanie and family that is a lot of work, but it looks so good. I enjoyed watching I’ve never made them, but I’ve always wanted to thank you for this video.😊 you are very sweet Stephanie to pass them all around for folks ❤
Yummy, from scratch all the way ❤ There's nothing like homemade food. You can taste the love.
‼️🖐️Hi Stephanie and Buddy thank you for sharing your recipe with us all, It reminds me of our mom doing the tamales too they are delicious heavenly good and I just love the way you put the lard and the flavoring in the masa because that's like the touch to a very tasty tamal, That's what my mom always did. Take good care and warm regards to the rest of the family😊‼️
Looks great. I use the broth from my cooked meat in my masa for the flavor. I always put the red chile in my masa, too. We make at least 3 times more than you did at one time, so when masa is done, We cover with a wet dish towel. There are usually 3-5 of us at day of tamale making. We use to use steamer pots, now we have an assembly line of 5 full-size roasters to cook them. Great tutorial, Stephanie.
You got me drooling, over here. Thanks for sharing. TTYL, my friend. ~~~~Tina
WoW Stefanie... That's amazing... I never knew, the hard work put into a tamale. Great job sweetie
Tamales are my favorite. I’ve made them one time years and years ago with my mother-in-law and they were a lot of work and I’ve never made them again. I buy them now. My friend Irene makes them and I get them from her so good.❤

Tamales are a labor of love!♥️
They look So Yummy 😋😋 Hopefully you will have a great day 💞💞
Thank you, Stephanie, for your time! I love tamales and wanted to know how to make them. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s a recipe I can tackle as I live alone and don’t have anyone to share them with. I did enjoy your process and I can only assume your family was thankful for you sharing your labor of love. And boy, was that some labor! ❤
The tamales look delicious ❤❤
Looks good Steph. A lot of work. I don’t know if I could knead all that with my shoulders but they look good. Have a great day!
Wow! That’s a process!! Looks delicious though 😊
Your story of the family assembly line reminds me of my childhood. For us Italians it was spaghetti sauce. From picking the 50 bushels of tomatoes to sorting, washing, cutting, cooking etc. You were officially grown when you could fill the jars. Good times 😊
Wow! Those look delicious! 🫔
never seen this stage of tamales wish you shipped i would order looks yummy
Oh my Stephanie, the work involved to make them. I couldn't do that at my age, but I would love to try some. I have never had a tamale. I am going to see if I can buy some.
What an amazing job you did! And so much work involved and yes a whole lot of love in those!
Your tamales look so delicious. I like the massa spread thin, like what you do. ☺️
YUM!!❤
Lol, when I met my now ex, his whole family are from Cali and yes Hispanic. Well his grandma Cuca was the one that normally did all the tamales. So his sister that moved out to Tennessee with us, decided one Christmas that we were gonna make them. I had to work so missed on a few steps but got home just in time to help put them together. Oh and my gosh, it looked like she had a fight with the masa all over the kitchen 😂 that stuff was every where!! And Grandma on speaker phone lol. I kept hearing ahhh Mija, no no you do ----- first lol.. we had fun and she made some good sweet ones as well with cinnamon and raisins. I'm really glad i did learn a lot of Mexican cooking from both of them, they've both went to be with Jesus now so I now pass things to my daughters and nieces. Y'all take care, God Bless
They look scrumptious!
They do look delicious! Definitely keeps you busy on a snowy day!
