      He's not really saying what you think he's saying. His words are directed at those who do the hiring to tell them that race doesn't matter. They are the ones who need to hear it the loudest.

      @@coachhumph5524 you’re wrong that’s exactly what he’s saying to everyone. Stop being so focused on race and be focused on the character and the merits of the person.

      @@Cevans1992 Try listening to what he said instead of what you want him to say.. He NEVER said race doesn't matter. What he DID say is race *shouldn't* matter. His very first words in answering the question was not say race *shouldn't* matter but to say he understands the significance of what it means to people who look like him. Again his words are mostly directed to those who do the hiring because once they start acting like race doesn't matter then the need for the question will truly go away (notice how you don't hear and "What does it mean to be the first black...." kind of questions in the NBA?) Why would that be????
      Why would someone who doesn't think race matters say they understand what the significance is?
      And since you seem to be such an expert, explain what the proper level of focus on race that should exist.
      BONUS QUESTION: Since race doesn't matter then why does it matter if the question is asked or if the question isn't asked? (Funny how ignoring race works well for racists since no one is allowed to bring it up)

    • @Cevans1992

      @@coachhumph5524 wrong, when he says it shouldn’t matter he means that there shouldn’t be a focus on race for every little thing. Sure he acknowledges the fact of being the first black coach and that some may look up to him but ultimately what he cares about and what everyone should focus on is merit of your work and content of your character. You obsess over race and keep racism alive and thriving.
      Asking the question matters because you’re trivializing his success based on his ethnicity. “Wow you’re doing pretty well Marcus… for a black coach.” Is essentially what you’re saying.

    • @coachhumph5524
      @coachhumph5524 16 днів тому

      @@Cevans1992 Notice how your narrative seeks to seeks to "cancel" the asking of the question and yet you have nothing to say about how little of an opportunity is being given to coaches who are minorities and even less to say to those around the country who don't hire minorities?
      Ask yourself if someone were racist and in position to make coaching hiring decisions would they want the question asked or would they want no focus on the topic at all?
      Also ask yourself that since race doesn't matter what difference does it make if the question is asked or not and how is it out of all the topics brought forth in the interview, this is the one that you devote so much energy to...over a topic that doesn't even matter.
      By the way did you ever address the question of why this kind of question doesn't seem to be a thing in NBA from reporters because if you did I missed it.

I wanted him bad since the instant BK thankfully left, the players made it happen (which says everything), and he has exceeded my wildest expectations. @@bobbyreed4819 the Sugar Bowl is a traditional BCS/NY6 bowl game and is still revered as such, even if these 'bowl games' are being played throughout the quarterfinals & semifinals of this new 12-team college football playoff. Notre Dame just won the Sugar Bowl, thereby breaking their 31 year long winless in BCS/New Year's 6 bowl games dry spell.
      The really neat thing about this semifinals matchup tomorrow is that our Irish now have the opportunity to win their 1st Orange Bowl in quite some time, as well as having the opportunity to advance to the title game. Why is this part so difficult to understand for some..? 🤦🏽‍♂️

First overalls for Freeman and the Irish. Over All. Everyone. Together. Freeman has been my favorite coach overall in any game or league and I’ve been around a while. ❤ The goal for humanity is that we don’t ever have to think about any of our differences especially skin color. I feel like the media is the Vulcan Science Acadamy telling Spock he achieved greatness despite his disadvantage (His human mother). I guess Freeman did play for Ohio State so there is that! 😂. Its the whole reason there is racism. It’s because when they look at Freeman they don’t see a man they only see a black man and the fact that he is black is always on their mind and no matter what he does they see a black man doing it instead of just seeing a man.
