These guys are truly brothers with different Mothers they come from the north and the deep south of the U.S. but they blend together so well it blows my mind.
Chris Rupp has his own UA-cam channel. He left the group on 2016 to do other projects. He recently did a video featuring Rob with his new band which includes his sister. He does a lot of solo projects but has featured singers including Tim Foust. Rob is in Rockin Robin and Tim is in Long Black Train. His replacement is Adam Chance who was also on the SingOff season 2 in another band, Street Corner Symphony. He goes by "Chance" as to not confuse him with Adam Rupp.
Lisa - I love your channel and your enthusiasm for the "Boys" - now that you've opened the door to their new videos - I KNOW you'll really enjoy "Snowglobe" as well as "Wintersong", "Cold Hard Cash" (for Christmas - really fun!!) and last but not least "Warmest Winter" which is a very sweet and tender song that Austin wrote about his grandmother / grab your hankies for this one.... Adam Chance joined 2016 (we call him Chance so not to be confused with "Adam" Rupp) Chance has a beautiful; rich, baritone voice and can switch to bass when Tim sings high.. They are simply amazing. I will continue to happily go with you on this wonderful journey called "Home Free". God bless you and your wonderful family at this most wonderful time of the year! RichieC (Atlanta GA - USA)
Well hello to my good 'ol, South Georgia sister!! Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎄🎄🎄 I lived in Thomasville for two years long long ago but it was two of the best years of my life!! Glad to have a "sister" home frie along for the ride. I just got Tim Faust's new solo Doo-Wop album and it's everything I thought it would be and more... I grew up with that type of music and it hit home...HARD!! Thanks for your sweet reply!
Great reaction Samantha. They have so many songs this good, both new and old. Their library of music is so huge many fabulous songs get overlooked. Some sleepers that usually blow people away are Take Me Home Country Roads, Helplessly Hoping, and What We Ain’t Got. Home Free becomes a beautiful journey.
Samantha Lisa, yes this may be your 1st "newer" video you've watched. Chris left Home Free in May 2016 to pursue a solo career....Chris has come back several times and worked with the group. they've even made a couple of videos together, and Tim Foust the bass has made a superb cover of "Angels among us" with Chris. Chance, who just did bass cover in this video, replaced Chris & no other changes have happened. Check out their latest "What Christmas means to me"....frankly, just my opinion, but Home Free is better with Chance than Chris...it allows Tim to use his upper range now, and be confident in the bass being done by Chance is a very capable bass....
Kevin, I see you pretty much everywhere I watch Home Free so I wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas! I feel like all the HF followers have become my "friends" since they all love HF like I do! I hope we ALL have a Happier New Year!
Interestingly you have seen Chance before. The very first Home Free video you saw was Constant Sorrow. That was of the group in its current configuration. Chance did the didgeridoo sounds in that. In neither of these songs, however, have you had a chance (no pun intended) to hear Chance’s voice highlighted. He has added a fourth very strong solo star worthy voice to the group. I recommend listening to something he takes lead in like Some Girls Do or Cover Me Up. He’ll be a whole new discovery!
I understand your dilemna. Chris left the group in 2016 to pursue his own solo career. He has m5ade some guest appearances on HOMEFREE and some of them have collaborated with him on songs. Tim and Chris did a lovely rendition of "ANGELS AMONG US". During quarantine Tim cut his hair and stopped covering the gray, but tbese are the only 2 changes they have made. I personally love the new sound, which is very minor. I recommend that you start NOW, with their newest songs and work your way backward! They have really grown as a band! Tim has co-written or written several original songs. And don't forget he has a 5 octave range that allows him to go from that deep bass that we all love to tenor, sometimes high tenor! Adam, the beat boxer is coming up with new ideas constantly! Austin and Robb are still their glorious selves. Adam Chance, who took the place of Chris, is really good. I do understand how you feel about Chris. I felt the same way! But Chance, as he is called, has a beautiful voice and range. I think he adds to the group. TRY GOING BACKWARDS...FROM NEW SONGS TO THE OLDER ONES. THEY WILL BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!
A great cover that features Adam Chance is Cover me Up. He has an excellent vocal range from Bass to Tenor, although not quite what Tim's is(he covers 5 octaves). Still his inclusion in the group has really allowed flexability in the other members. Another Chance video is Born in the U.S.A. where he shows some of his range(also his guitar playing).
Adam Chance does a lot of instrument sounds to compliment Adam Rupp's Beatboxing. Check out Can't Stop the Feeling for an instrumental interlude in the middle. Chance was the bass for his previous vocal group. He can go all the way from bass to tenor. You see a little of his high tenor in Can't Stop the Feeling.
Yes, Chris left a few yrs back. Chance came in and worked with the group and they had filmed a Christmas Party, with the Families. Chris was there and gave control of the note tune wheel, were they get the starting key to sing, to Chance. Telling him he was in. You do realize that Chance, has the same range as Tim.
Everything you said Sam I agree with. This is soooo good. So beautiful, so creative. Those harmonies are incredible. The beatboxing by Adam and the bass by Chance is tremendous. Ok, Chris Rupp was co founder of Home Free and the baritone. He usually wore a ball cap or cowboy hat. He left the group in 2016 to go solo. He was replaced by Adam Chance. We call him Chance to not confuse him with the beatboxer. Chance is a baritone/bass and can fill in for Tim when Tim sings high. Chance is a wonderful singer and I would recommend some songs with him in lead….Yours and I Can’t Outrun You…they’re fabulous. (Btw, that’s the only change in the group til last year when Tim cut his long hair and let his gray streak show). Great reaction Sam. Have a wonderful Christmas! This song is now one of my favorites!!
Chris Rupp retired from the group in 2016, and was replaced by Adam Chance (Chance). You will remember Chance as the one doing the didgeridoo sound in Man of Constant Sorrow.
Yes, you did see Chance before. He was in Grandma got ran over by a reindeer, another was Man of constant sorrow. He was the one doing the Jew harp in the start and end.
Chris Rupp the founder of the group left in 2016 to work more on his solo career. He has his own UA-cam channel. The new member is Adam Chance who sings baritone but he can do bass too. He goes by Chance so there is no confusion. They have really worked so hard the last couple of years during quarantine. This is a phenomenal group and they sang this song beautifully. Great reaction from you.
Chris and Adam (the beatboxer) are brothers and started the group, but Chris left the group in 2016 and Chance has been singing with them since then, so if you see Chris it's a video before done before 2016. This one is a newer dropped video so you see Chance in it. (he does have a nice beautifully smooth voice) Chris still sings though, has formed other groups, and has a solo career now.
Don't be afraid to listen to their music out of order. I've also heard other reactioners say someone told them they had to start at the beginning and move forward. I don't see what difference that makes. They have so many (something like 150 in their catalog) that it would take a long, damn time to catch up. Skip around and just know when you see Chris it is an older one, when you see Chance or see Tim with the new haircut, it's a newer one. If you loved how powerful this one was, check out "Brother's in Arms" next (also a newer one).
As comments below have pointed out, Chris left the group to pursue solo projects. However, he has returned to acapella with a group called 7th Avenue, so he can sing with his sister Tristen. Before Chance joined Home Free, he was the Bass for a group called Street Corner Symphony.
Home Free can sing Christmas songs that are beautiful and lovely and moving...Mary Did You Know, Do You Hear What I Hear, What Child is This (under Chris Rupp's name). And then they will turn around and come up with Christmas song that will have you falling out of you chair from laughter. They do Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer caroling in ridiculous costumes knocking on the doors of their manager, other singers they've worked with, and Rob's actual grandma. (There's also an onstage version of this that should also be checked out.) Their song Full of Cheer is the sequel to Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget and they're both written by Tim Foust. Wonderful! And a whole lot of fun. And let's not forget Cold Hard Cash and What Christmas Means to Me, with its following short called Home Free Cooking with Adam.
The only one who's missing is Chris Rupp. Chris chose Adam Chance (rear left, light t-shirt, just called "Chance" to avoid confusion of 2 Adams) as his replacement before he left for a solo career but he still does stuff with the guys. They've all aged 5+ years since Chris left or cut their hair!😊 Any video done after 2016 has Chance in it! Merry Christmas, Samantha, to you, your family & all the Home Fries!
As Chris was leaving it was the 4 remaining members of the group who chose Chance. Chris did an interview with reactor QoFy in August and said that he did not help with the recruitment of Chance. The link is available on Chris' twitter account. It is a long, but very interesting, interview and the pertinent info is at the 33 minute mark. Chance was a very good friend of Tim's before he joined HF.
Adam Chance gives them greater flexibility. He is a solid base, which lets Tim do more leads. He is a good baritone and soloist too. I think you will like him.
Thought it was amazing also!!! Hope you had a very Merry Christmas and hope it was all ya ever dreamed of. Happy New Year as well. --- Home Free, it just doesn't get any better! Be Safe
Chris left the group in 2016 and was replaced by Adam Chance who goes by Chance not to confuse people. Chris left on good terms. He wanted to pursue a solo career
Chris Rupp left to go solo in May 2016. No drama, no falling out, he just wanted to do other things. I hear he's the one who brought of Adam Chance to step in. Chris did join with the group (the only time he's sung with Chance?) later that same year for What Child is This. Beautiful rendition. But I expected nothing else.
Sorry to say but it is a rumor that Chris was involved with Chance joining Home Free. Chris did an interview with reactor QoFy in August and said that he did not help in the recruitment of Chance. The link is available on Chris twitter account. It is a long interview but very interesting. The pertinent info is at the 33 minute mark. Chance was a very good friend of Tim's before he joined HF.
If you go to Chris Rupp's UA-cam channel, he has a series of videos where he, Adam Rupp, and Matt Atwood go through the history of the group from the beginning to when he left to go out on his own. You might find it interesting.
Great reaction Miss Samantha yeah this is a new video so Chris left the band,he was actually the brother of Adam the best box guy. Those two started the group. Don't forget to react to the song How Great Thou Are sweetie Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
No drama. Chris left to pursue a solo career. I believe it was his recommendation to give Chance a call. Chance was in a group that performed in the 2nd season of The Sing Off. Street Corner Symphony. Check them out, you can find them on UA-cam.

A beautiful cover by Home Free. But Home Free has never done a bad cover that I've ever seen.

@ Rich Cunningham I agree with everything that you said! From a South Georgia Home Free Home Fry at beautiful Lake Seminole!

Brothers in Arms, definitely. A Dire Straits cover in response to the Faulklands.

Do Brothers In Arms. It’s splendid

Wonderful reaction! I am enjoying your Home Free journey! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family..🤗♥️
You should watch a few of their quarenteen videos from 2019 starting with the song Quarenteen....

Great reaction, if you want to see a good one with Adam I recommend Folsom Prison Blues
The last guy is Adam Chance
No drama. Chris left to pursue a solo career. I believe it was his recommendation to give Chance a call. Chance was in a group that performed in the 2nd season of The Sing Off. Street Corner Symphony. Check them out, you can find them on UA-cam.

Pentatonix has a version too
Chris left the group and was replaced by Adam Chance, who they call Chance.
Please react to Brothers in Arms. You will be amazed.
Chris left the group for a solo career.
Hey, Sam. Great reactipn. Have you listened to the cover done by Mark Lowery wirh Voctave? If not, I think you will love it too. 😎
👏👍🔥🔥💖💖💖🔥🌹🌹
As much of a Home Free fan I am I almost hate to say that Voctave's cover of this song featuring Mark Lowry (who wrote this song) is much better.
Try to react Gigi de lana have yourself a merry little Christmas
Chris left in 2016 to pursue a sollo career and Chance replaced him
Adam Chance replaced Chris. Chance is doing bass on this one.
Go kiss your kids!!!!😇
