The fire started on the back deck from a smoker, the back of the house was well involved upon crews arrival with no fire showing in the second floor or attic, the fire entered the second story and the attic where the wind quickly pushed it from the back of the house to the front. The roof behind the tree was beginning to sag causing concern for a collapse. Funny how so many comment without knowing what actually happened. Firefighter safety is a priority when it is confirmed there are no occupants in the house, the GRFD has not had a line of duty death since the 1960’s.
