He suffered a detached retina I believe? Shame, he would have made a great cruiserweight.

@@matthewcb1970 agreed. Cracking fighter was Horace but definitely a Cruiserweight that could easily mix it with heavyweights at this level. Great to hear the late Harry Carpenter and Gary Mason commentating 🥊💥💥🥊

Kilimanjaro was from my neighbourhood of Mbare in Harare. Quite a hero he was. I personally think his problem was that he started boxing a bit late in life. Had he started earlier we would most probably be talking about a world champion.

Y'all funny, every fight is different. We saw Lennox Lewis getting knocked out by Hasim Rahman and it looked like he didn't know what he was doing. Just because Proud was not good in this fight does not mean he was bad in all his fights. Even the legend Muhammad Ali was beaten by a fighter who only had 7 fights

Kilimanjaro was a good boxer in his area he started late I feel like he would of done better fighting in another weight class since his weight held him down he is one of the best heavyweight boxers from Africa of all time

Sammyboy72, Horace will be 60 in august, he retired from boxing due to a detached retina with an unbeaten record (16-0).
Was the reigning British & Commonwealth Champion & a very skilled boxer, sadly did not reach his full potential due to early forced retirement.

yeah .i remember as a boy reading in the papers then a boxer from zambia called mike simwelu denouncing the prowess associated with kilimanjaro.i was a rural boy then.until i saw his post fights i doubted him.surely he is vindicated.he was burley.no boxing brain.no footwork.just a huge body.its surely craziness for people going him a chance against lewis in that stillbirth fight.he was a great boxer by mediocrity standards.i rate highly that harry namibian boxer.a miles ahead in terms of boxing iq.lets shun mediocrity and applaud talent to be the best.

Boxing was real in those days. I can't understand how british fighers win world titles so easily today, and never cut like they did back then? Young fans today worship them like gods and ignore the past. It says here Horace would have an even chance against, either Dillian, or Delboy? Slight level playing field of course.
