The former USSR was also a supergroup built on the ideal of its constitution. The failure of that communist experiment should lend some lessons to the USA. There are 2 ways to bring America together: 1. Find a common enemy - China/Russia 2. Find inner strength and confidence The first way is the easy way. The second way is the right way - A) Promote American exceptionalism by facing and solving our problems and finding solutions. don’t try to find excuse or blaming scapegoats because that won’t treat the root issues. C) Continue our tradition of the generous inclusiveness built on mutual benefits - legal immigration, fair export/import, peaceful cooperation and competition. Save the money from weapons and prisons and spend them on infrastructure and education. D) Eliminate entitlements and welfare (both corporate welfare and social welfare) and separate corporate interests from the politicians by reforming campaign finance.

Presumably, if you are watching this video, you are LDS. In the church, we believe that repentance is one of the first principles and ordinances of the gospel. We believe that if we identify misbehaviors in our past, we should recognize, repair, and forsake them. This doesn't make us less exceptional; it helps make us more exceptional. I'm no leftist, but I've been able to grow past my fear of the left by trying to understand that point of view. Generally speaking, people on that side believe strongly in America, love her, cherish her strengths, and want to help each person receive her blessings. While I don't agree with some of the policy decisions they espouse to get there, please do not blind yourself to the good motivations of the good people on the other side from you. This kind of sweeping generalization you made is the kind of thing I used to say, and my life is so much richer over the last few years since I started making some efforts to see the world from other perspectives beyond my own.

You could not be any more correct. They are trying to destroy the very foundation that this nation was built on and replace it's history, meaning and intent. You can't get rid of a good thing until you tear it down, so you can replace it with something else. It is all intentional. Most all of it is based on lies, and it's replacement is far worse. Socialism, and broken families, and dependence on government will never be better than the constitution, faith in God, and strong families. Look to see what party most closely aligns with God's laws. Certainly a fair point. But she does point out widespread distain for America coming from the left. We shouldn't assume every Democrat hates America. But we do need to acknowledge just like she did that is is prevalent in places of power that the left dominates. Both sides definitely have problems. Having now gone over it three times. I'm surprised by how little criticism she has for the right. The only explicit example she gives is a white nationalist conference (she must be referring to AFPAC). She had many examples on the left. I even asked her during the Q&A is she had more specifics on things that are problems on the right. She didn't. I asked the question because I very much want to address problems on my side of the political spectrum. She does say the problems are equally bad on both sides. I think I agree. What I wouldn't agree with is that the problems are equally prevalent. In other words ethno nationalism and hating Americans founders are both very bad ideas. But one is more ubiquitous than the other. Her talk seems to confirm this.
I think she overstated the issue of right wingers promoting white supremacy. This is a Leftist trope, a manufactured problem made to profit the Left by stirring up more anger. Write supremacy is, and has been on life support, at least since I was a kid in the 80s and 90s. Does racism still exist? Sure. But it does not deserve the incessant talk on Leftist news outlets that it is getting. It's not that prevalent. It's a distraction from many more pressing issues. I’m pro choice. That means pro choice when it comes to abortion. It also means pro choice when it comes to owning guns. It seems like almost no one can cope with the thought of someone having views and opinions that don’t align or fully disagree with either major American political party.
Ok, I'm only like halfway through, but I couldn't disagree more. What this all comes down to, is sin. America has been too prosperous for too long. The people got proud and lazy and the enemy moved in to attack while our defenses were down. Make no mistake about it, there is a very real attempt to divide the people. It is not imagined, and it isn't due to a change in the dynamics of race, or which news station we watch, or even our economic class. We've had all of these things in the past and we were not as divided as we are now. The misinformation war going on is intentional and they are having a huge amount of success due to our wickedness. Nothing else. My son got chased out of his honors English class because he didn't go along with the critical race theory agenda being taught. He was respectful in his views, the the "other side" was not. They wanted violence. It goes to show you the cancel culture going on is huge and powerful, and it typically favors one set of beliefs over another. These are all facts.

I agree about sin taking over, even the fact that the Gaddiantons are behind this. If you would have finished listening to this speaker, you'd have seen that she's got a WONDERFUL take on solutions and ways to mend communications between diverse people. That's one of our problems as a society, that people don't want to LISTEN to each other. Everyone can't just overtalk one another constantly.
First, I agree that there are very immoral things going on in the world and in this country. I also disagree with some of her points. Some of her points do have truth to them. My starting advice is this scripture: 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Remember to love others. If nothing else, they are a children of God and God does love them. Persecution is very painful, but if we hold fast to our teaching and beliefs, God will support us. It may take time, as even the people of Alma weren't immediately delivered from affliction. I am sorry with what your family has to go through. You shouldn't rebuke people when they are trying to do good. People aren't all knowing and can only learn so quickly. My experience tells me that learning is slow and hard. As such if a person does err, that person should be corrected with love and compassion. If you read through Exodus, you will see that Moses made a good number of mistakes. God still supported him because he was honestly trying to do good. If nothing else, we do have the 11th Article of Faith. I believe this applies to all beliefs as part of being on Earth is for people to utilize their agency.

Ok, I just got a little further. She is correct about the constitution being the bedrock that this nation was founded on. So she should ask why there are groups and news stations who are actively trying to tear it down. Maybe I should finish the video first, but sheesh. Not everyone identifies with the left or right. Let's not take everything the media says as gospel. There are lots of people on both sides who don't agree with everything the media says about their side. I agree about sin taking over, even the fact that the Gaddiantons are behind this.
If you would have finished listening to this speaker, you'd have seen that she's got a WONDERFUL take on solutions and ways to mend communications between diverse people.
That's one of our problems as a society, that people don't want to LISTEN to each other. Everyone can't just overtalk one another constantly.
First, I agree that there are very immoral things going on in the world and in this country. I also disagree with some of her points. Some of her points do have truth to them.
My starting advice is this scripture:
44 But I say unto you, Love your
enemies, bless them that curse
you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully
use you, and persecute you;
Remember to love others. If nothing else, they are a children of God and God does love them.
Persecution is very painful, but if we hold fast to our teaching and beliefs, God will support us.
It may take time, as even the people of Alma weren't immediately delivered from affliction.
I am sorry with what your family has to go through.
You shouldn't rebuke people when they are trying to do good. People aren't all knowing and can only learn so quickly. My experience tells me that learning is slow and hard. As such if a person does err, that person should be corrected with love and compassion. If you read through Exodus, you will see that Moses made a good number of mistakes. God still supported him because he was honestly trying to do good.
If nothing else, we do have the 11th Article of Faith. I believe this applies to all beliefs as part of being on Earth is for people to utilize their agency.
