Excellent Video! Everyone has to do their part...no more trash!!! Save our Island, our Ocean, our Bay...our way of life. This is Sad News! Blessings! Peace from the Keys!❤❤
Thank you so much for this video we all have to talk about the problem this is are lifestyle so we need to take care of it or it will be gone This is our Paradise
We have a plague of people who disrespect our waters. Many of which are tourists and sadly, many locals. A better idea would be to fine anyone who leaves ANY trash a $1000 fine minimum. And if it’s a charter company dropping people off, they get an even bigger fine. Desafortunadamente, La gente solo entienden cuando le duele el bolsillo. 🤷🏻♂️ Great video guys! 🤙
Hi guys! we answered your comment and for some reason didn't post 🤔 Thank you so much! You are 💯right! The higher the fines the better... specially the illegal charters polluting our waters. This week we saw dead fish in our area... hundreds of them. Is getting bad🙁
We must stop throwing garbage on our islands, but what is killing the Bay is all the sewer and storm drain on the street that flows into the bay, no one talks about this, 2% garbage 98% poor management of the city, excelente video chicas 💯👍
True... the sewer and storm drain issue is a whole other story that is very sad also. What about construction companies throwing their waist on the bay. SMH
It’s sad it had to come to this. I hope one day they reopen and most importantly, people change their behavior. Felt your pain. Thanks for sharing your POV on the matter.
Thank you! Unfortunately we don't have a lot of hope on people changing their behavior. Those who trash the islands and the ocean simply don't care. We'll see how this is going to end. Saludos from Miami!!!!
It's sad that for those who do their part in cleaning up after themselves have to suffer because of those who use the islands as if they were a dump site. Very sad but not surprised, we need to do better guys, just clean up after yourselves and then the city/county's are not forced to do this thing. Great video and hope it puts those who trash the islands on alert.
They do go pickup the trash usually on Mondays. The problem is that there is soooo much and by the time the weekend arrives they are overflowed. It sucks that everyone has to pay the price of the idiots that have no conscious. 🤘
Good video! Greetings from Palm Beach County, in my opinion: Could it be that the city is cutting cost? If the trash cans are overflowing, could it be that the city is not picking up trash as often compared to the demand? I am not saying you should leave your trash behind for the city pick it up, but i believe the city made a very drastic move (before a holiday weekend) spending money in signage and fencing instead of providing a warning first... maybe they did... They should create awareness and maybe assign more resources to keep these areas open. Hopefully the island will open back soon, otherwise you will see the black fence flying out and creating more contamination...
@Agua-Sala Thank You. There have been campaigns going on for years about this issue in the news (Luis Aguirre WPLG 10) has been amazing on doing stories about this issue. He has a series of stories Called Don't Trash our Treasure. It is a movement. Also Miami Waterkeeper, Sendit4theSea, Clean This Beach Up, Clean Miami Beach, etc who are non-profits with volunteers that do cleanups. Also, the social media campaigns. There has been a lot of awareness but nothing has worked. People don't seem to care. Let's pray that this works and our islands can reopen soon. 🙏
Hopefully Miami boaters will get focused on keeping the islands and water clean. Otherwise, there's a good chance these places will end up like the island next to the Boynoton inlet that used to be a place boaters and skis would pull up and now they put up some rocks and called it a bird sanctuary and they give you a warning or ticket for putting a toe on it. people still hang at the sandbar though.
Thank you for bring more awareness, as a Latino I'm a shame to say that sometime my people are the cause of this happening. I live off the ICW and spend most of my time on these islands and on the water and see it all the time. I have a place in the Keys and this doesn't happen because the people are more considered and pickup after themself.
If off the coast I would think maybe it would be federal not a city or county control. The people need to speak up then remove those who have done this to the public.
I would close all of them down. Elliot Key, ragged keys, Beer Can, etc. This does not happen anywhere else in Florida. On the west coast you do not even see a peace of paper on the ground anywhere. It is disgraceful.
Hi!!!! Thank you so much! A group of boaters planned a day to go pickup trash. They were promoting it and inviting others through social media. The city found out and asked them to cancel. This was when the islands were still closed. They opened them again a few weeks ago. I think they tried to keep people out during the summer. 😊😊
❤ well done. We watched it on the big screen. It's Soo sad, glad you guys shined a light on this. Big hugs
It is very sad... imagine our favorite island is blocked. They already put the black fence around it 🙁 Hugs to both Bears😘
Love you ladies keep us posted on the island issues. Thank you very much.
Thank you! We'll let you know when the islands open again!
Thanks ladies for your great video. Hope you had wonderful holidays.

Thank you Jorge... hugs to you guys!
Thank you so much for this video we all have to talk about the problem this is are lifestyle so we need to take care of it or it will be gone This is our Paradise
Thank you. Our Paradise is in danger. We all have to do better. Stay safe this weekend!

Gracias! Si ... es que es muy triste ver como tratan las cosas. Son salvages
Great video, so sad to see that every year, more and more islands are closed. 😭 por irresponsables. Great job. Great video, awesome editing 👏
Thank you guys!!! Yeah it is very sad... us boaters that love our islands and take care of them have to pay for those that don't care 😕
Great video!
thank you🙏
Buen video educativo
Gracias

Damn it finally happened, 😢. Sand bar will be crowded.
Yep! very sad... The sandbar and Sand spur Island (Beercan) Is going to be a chit show. 🙄

Thank you! yes very sad but necessary. Let's see how long before we can return to our island 🙏
Miami dade has to quit being so cheap and pay people to clean those islands,, no one goes to a public park to pick up their trash

@@SeaJunkiesChannel Got it! Then it was the right thing to do after all the efforts... It is very sad to see this happening...

We hope this helps. Miami is changing a lot. Not sure there is hope counting on the people to do the right thing. Some people just don't care
Thank you for bring more awareness, as a Latino I'm a shame to say that sometime my people are the cause of this happening. I live off the ICW and spend most of my time on these islands and on the water and see it all the time.

The Keys are such a different vibe and people. Thank God what is happening in Miami is not happening there 🙏
If off the coast I would think maybe it would be federal not a city or county control. The people need to speak up then remove those who have done this to the public.
Thank you! The islands are inside Biscayne Bay. Unfortunately some people don't care to protect the environment.
I would close all of them down. Elliot Key, ragged keys, Beer Can, etc. This does not happen anywhere else in Florida. On the west coast you do not even see a peace of paper on the ground anywhere. It is disgraceful.
You got that right! If they can’t do the right thing, they don’t deserve access to the islands!
Trash leaving trash...who would have thought?
Lets volunteer once a month to go clean with garbage bags
