Thanks for the video, I just acquired one from my father in law, I more of a three wheeler guy, but this unit is smooth and powerful, plus my wife can drive it. Fun so far
Súper awesome video thank you so much for sharing love your video. So you prefer this Yamaha Wolverine 700 Better than Polaris rzr 1000 with 110 hp ? My good friend has a 2015 Polaris rzr 1000 Fox edition and has been amazing I drove it twice and I’m in love with that Polaris. But I prefer Japanese like Honda Pioneer 700cc or 1000cc . But I love the way it looks this Yamaha Wolverine blue my favorite that’s why I’m watching your awesome video
I had a viking. No a wolverine. The wolverine could be mod to fit a center seat. But the viking sucks down hill. Rum raa rum raa rum ran. Down the will. Wolverine is ruuuuuuuuuuuuuum
what about the seating position vs the rzr? I am also 6'3" and I test drove one for a few minutes and noticed that you sit more upright then the rzr, with your foot more at an upward angle. does this get tiring after a longer ride. I am also wondering about the noise and the motor vibration. thank you for the honest review and all the help! also would you think it would be OK to put a snow plow on a 900 rzr?
I notice that it doesn't struggle at all going through thick mud. It has a great suspension and is well powered with the 700. I ride in the bush and I don't need top speed as much as low end torque. My friends have arctic scrap wildcats and Polaris rzr. I think they look cheap beside mine. I think it is a good choice
+John Dough I have been very happy ! Minimal small cosmetic issues but a great machine and i didn't feel like I wasted my $ like I did when I bought a 22k pos rzr
I am assuming the reason the floor is breaking around the mounting points is due to flex in the vehicles frame. Must be a slight shift when going over obstacles.
I have the same machine and mine seems to vibrate quite a bit when I'm climbing a hill or whenever it's under a load so to speak. Have you encountered that or done anything about it? Thanks.
So why did you choose this over a Can Am, Polaris, or any of the other major models out there? And doesn't Yamaha have a 1000cc used in one of their other models that maybe they may use in the Wolverine in the future, or is the 700 best for cutting overall weight? Just wanted your thoughts on all this, as I too am looking at this very same model at my local dealer. Great vid!
paraTRUEper sorry for the late Reply. I had a 1000 rzr and it was always broken. Wanted something I Could use around the house as well as for camping etc. has been very reliable !
Does it ever get hot in the cab after riding for while? And also do you have to yell in the cab to have a conversation with the passenger? Try to pick between this machine and the polaris 900.
Cody Smith I haven't noticed any engine heat coming into the cab. It's slightly noisy in the cab. You can really hear the air intake under the hood. Love the machine but it's pretty under powered. It has portal axles on it now and 32" tires. It's a crawling off road animal !
3 1/2" highlifter lift on mine 28"×9.5x14 outlaw 2s it climbs straight up the hill side can't get it stuck to save my life haha hope you enjoy yours as much as I do
+Clifton Gay how long have you owned yours? I just got mine 2 weeks ago. So far I love it. I could do without the transmission noise. I'm hoping that goes away when I get some miles on it
Have a question, was wondering how this machine is holding up over the last three years? I am looking to buy one right now it only has 70 miles been garage kept. Just wondering how yours has held up over the years with the single cylinder in the belt transmission everything is working so far. The guy is asking 11,500. Thanks
Did you ever buy one? I’m looking at a 2017 that’s extremely clean, and low miles/hours. He only wants 9,900 for it. Was planning on getting a rzr 900 but it’s 12,500, I know about the rzr, but I don’t know anybody with one of these.
+Justin Lopez so far so good. The floor has cracked and supposedly the dealer is going to replace it once it comes in. I have been very happy ! It needs more power but makes up for it with the quality
PowertechDiesel yeah the Wolverine is nice, I wish the wolverine had a tail gate that opened instead of pulling it out and dump box. Would probably be a pain to take tail gate off if you had a load of wood or dirt in there etc. Do you find it has enough power to climb good size hills or go through mud well?
+Kent Boyko it only seemed to have low power when on the road wide open. Climbing and Offroad it won't have any problems at all. We were in some thick gooey mud and boulders. Didn't seem to care. Feels like a beast in the nasty stuff. My wife commented on how good the ride was !
PowertechDiesel I have a wolverine. The lack of power when on open road is mostly from the limiter on them in the computer. You can buy a program just as you would a diesel. That will over ride that and give you more of its full potential. They are nice and as I expect Yamaha makes great products I don't expect this to be different.
+Brian Jones ya. I am going to installing the portal lift. It's a 4" and reduced the gear ratio 30% and I will be running 32" tires. Will post once it's done
+Brian Jones not sure I actually answered your question. Nothing ever has enough power ! This one needs more. I'm thinking that slightly lower gearing will help. It's climbs like a mofo in low with the lockers on !
+BigDaddyKong no 😩 every time I ask about it I get told an update is coming. I haven't been pushy about it but maybe I need to call Yamaha instead of my dealer
i just bough a 2018 and she is dirty i got to say i wish i researched her before i bough her.i like the ride and got power for me but i can't get over how dirty she is.
Yamaha will definetely hold up better than ANY POLARIS! ANY DAY!
Just bought one I hope I will enjoy for many years
Thanks for the video, I just acquired one from my father in law, I more of a three wheeler guy, but this unit is smooth and powerful, plus my wife can drive it. Fun so far
wanne buy one, your video helped to make a decission, thank you
yes could you tell me more about the factory clutch and one you might add if you want more power to the wheels

Would like to hear update on your machine, reliability etc.
Appreciate your review,nice👍
Great great review 👈🏿. I love my lifted four seater 07 rhino 660R but I'm considering this or a viking.
I had a viking. No a wolverine. The wolverine could be mod to fit a center seat. But the viking sucks down hill. Rum raa rum raa rum ran. Down the will. Wolverine is ruuuuuuuuuuuuuum
Best part of the video 3:21 had a Poolaris and had problems with it. Yep. Poolaris sells HP before reliability and quality parts.

At a dealership today. It looks like I'll be riding this same model with full cab next week. Looking forward to a new adventure. Thanks for the video!
Marine'72 awesome !!! Ours is still going strong !!

Your right bro, arctic cat and pooplaris got nothing on Yamaha or Honda reliability and quality
Great choice John Dough

Great machines
What does the clutch modification entail. Fixing to pick one up this week. Thanks
Seat belts broke within a week on my 2018 wolverine r spec love the machine other then that
I got the same ride nice video, question where did you buy the full windshield? is that a factory installed wanted to buy one for my UTV..Thanks
Paul Bacallo it was the factory Yamaha hard coat from the dealer !
I have the same machine and mine seems to vibrate quite a bit when I'm climbing a hill or whenever it's under a load so to speak. Have you encountered that or done anything about it? Thanks.
arctic cat sport tough to beat
What's your idea to get the rattle out of the roof? My Honda Pioneer's roof rattles also and it irritates me.
3M Foam tape cleared mine right up.
+Jay Miner appreciate it
+Trigger Happy Guns actually. I put a zip tie where it contacts the roll cage and it fixed it
I used the foam weather stripping tape as well. No more issues

What do they do to the clutch to get more power ?
Did you ever get a chance to do a video with lift and other mods?
brian unrau I'm going to make a new one today !
from 1-10 what would you rate the wolverine i been looking around and it look loke the price and the things you could do with it sounds good enough
Horacio Vargas I would give it a 10 if it wasn't low on power but I would say a solid 8. I will be making a new video soon.
Great i also seen that upgrades are not that expensive like the rzr. So i maybe looking on buying one this weekend
3 1/2" highlifter lift on mine 28"×9.5x14 outlaw 2s it climbs straight up the hill side can't get it stuck to save my life haha hope you enjoy yours as much as I do
How do the axles look with the 3 1/2" lift? I was afraid to go more than 2"
+John Dough man they look good been holding up awsome not one problem
+Clifton Gay how long have you owned yours? I just got mine 2 weeks ago. So far I love it. I could do without the transmission noise. I'm hoping that goes away when I get some miles on it
About 3 months doesn't make a transmission noise though you might want to go get that checked out
How far can you go on a tank of gas and how many gallons does it hold?
does it fit in the back of your pickup truck

@@thebeesknees9954 yes bought one, runs amazing, that one sounds like an awesome price, you can’t go wrong
are you able to load your yamahain the bed of your truck? thank you for your time. Ron
Ron & Kathy Meinecke with the portals it’s 72inches. Never tried stock.
Did you ever get the portal lift installed?
+montecarlo 74 yes !! It's awesome too. Trying to get another video done once the weather doesn't suck !!
This is the original 708cc version. This is invalid when comparing to the current X2
how has she held up since you first posted the video?
+Justin Lopez so far so good. The floor has cracked and supposedly the dealer is going to replace it once it comes in. I have been very happy ! It needs more power but makes up for it with the quality
+Justin Lopez I would have to say it has held up very well ! I plan on making an update video in the next few days
What made you decide the Wolverine over the Viking?
I didn't really look at the Viking. I wanted a sport/utility and the wolverine seemed to fit that perfectly ! Plus it looks better !

How's she holding up?
Yamaha>>>>Polaris...Badass machine man!!! I got its brother the Yamaha YXZ1000R!
Does it have enough power for most things?
+Brian Jones ya. I am going to installing the portal lift. It's a 4" and reduced the gear ratio 30% and I will be running 32" tires. Will post once it's done

Any update on the floor?
+BigDaddyKong no 😩 every time I ask about it I get told an update is coming. I haven't been pushy about it but maybe I need to call Yamaha instead of my dealer
hows it holding ?
Joe Vizcalla going strong ! Needs some ball joints and a tie rod end.
i just bough a 2018 and she is dirty i got to say i wish i researched her before i bough her.i like the ride and got power for me but i can't get over how dirty she is.
