the parts that are red are usually performance parts and are more expensive so for cars that arent yours i suggest you buy the parts from the non performance shop so you can make more money from the job
I wonder if this is on easy mode. I wanna be pissed when I play the game, as if I’m looking through an organized tool box and some ass hole took the tool I needed the whole time.
Rule of thumb, never replace one of a pair. Even in the game ill replace both sides. Might not charge the customer but it's common sense, i apply it to CMS as well lol. Might be too serious. P.S. dont forget to upgrade from the tool box/skill tree :)
When you go to your menu selection tree...use the examine parts more to see whole parts and sections that are linked. Radiators, engines, gears are all needing tools like electronics meter reader and etc. But use the magnifying looking tool in starting careers to increase exp. Then comes upgrades to the garage like welder and new lifts and warehouse for saving parts.
It's nice that this game kinda holds your hand and I also appreciate that the entire body of the vehicle transitions to transparent so you can see what's going on underneath, but that makes it slightly immersion breaking and unrealistic. Like I said I appreciate it. It's just that doing these things irl will be several times more difficult, I'm just glad that this game gives you a general idea.
When you're working on tires and brakes (unless its within ~first 500-1500 miles) you need to replace them in pairs, so you do front rotors/pads together and same with tires. also if you change rotors you need new pads but if you change pads you don't need rotors. at least thats how it works irl. if you don't do it like that then it effects wear patterns and stability.
Alright trev ? When you asked the question can you make the faulty parts show up? Yes you can if the customer knows what they want changing. Pull up the job card and press the star button next to the part name. It will show its location on the car. If the part is not known you need to use diagnostic tools multimeter,OBD scanner, compression tester, test path (for breaks and suspension) also the test track will reveal running gear faults. Best to combine the two. Test track and path will reveal everything from breaks to anti roll bars to anti roll bar drop links to bushes. It won’t reveal engine faults except exhaust problems. All the best mate. Love watching your videos
Something you should note is that whenever you replace brake components or suspension components, you always replace them in pairs. So for brakes you can either do both front, both rear, or all 4 corners to do the job 100%.
Your gameplays are so exciting that I actually buy the game and learn something I’ve never even done and I appreciate you being such an entertainer in this series
Next Trevor needs to play 'My Summer Car'. Build the engine from ground up and try to get it running. Forget a step in the process and it will blow up :D
Quick tip: when you were struggling to find out how to take the engine head cover off, when you hover on a part, any red highlighted parts are parts that you need to remove before you can remove that part.
For the stuff in your inventory, you can repair things once you get high enough on the skill tree. You can save any part above ~45-50% for cars that come in that have a really low quality which will save you from buying new parts sometimes.
I just watched all the snow runner vids and wish you would make a couple more episodes on that. Kinda left undone. New subscriber and liking the content. 👍🏼
Coming into this series as a real life EV technician seeing an EV DLC. I’ll be watching your whole series. I love this game so far. I went balls to the wall and jumped in on expert mode 😂 now I’m 10 hours in and wife things I’m insane to work for my leisure time too.
If you want to know which parts to change you have to first mark your parts and they will light in blue so you will know exactly which one to change and where is it without searching it (1:37 press space for a mark)
Lmfao that whole video had me dieing bro. You dont need to keep saying you should know bro, you are great at what you do, no ones judging bro, keep it up homie! The dip stick was right under the cap in the front of the engine on the coop. It’s ridiculous how many tools and things you would need to be a mechanic in this world. But good job bro !
As a ASE Certified Automotive Master Tech suggestion: never do a break job on a car without changing out the break fluid it collects moisture and rots out the lines over times and looses it's ability to cool down and excessive heat so when doing a break job change out the fluid. Also if you replace a single caliper on one side of an axle and not the other it can cause what we call an uneven breaking situation with one caliper stronger than the other so on the same axle both calipers should be replaced at the same time. Also one last thing on your last job it was only 81% complete when you let it out the door you forgot to look over the suggested list of things to do I think to get added bonus for the job.
I'm pretty sure the 81% represents the minimum acceptable quality of part that would can be installed on the customer's car. Some customers will accept worse quality parts to replace broken ones
Let me help you out a little. To make your life so much easier buy all the parts you need before you take the car apart. So that when you are taking things off you can also just replace it then and there.
There is no shame in admitting you don't know something or learning something for the first time Trev :) Edit: It's a small detail but I love how you can hear the Mechanic's overalls (clothing) moving when the player moves
The parts with the most visible rust is usually the one you want to change. For now at least. You can kinda see black dots or black markings on stuff that's damaged like the brake pads. I think everything under 50% usually needs to be changed out.
Tmartn2 i wanted to say that whenever you are changing break pads and break discs make sure that the best of those are always in the front tires and also that tires which are in best condition should be in the front because the breaking of a car depends mainly on the front tires and breaks so those should be the best
@TmarTn2 when you hover over an part the green border highlight means you can just remove it. When the border highlight is yellow it means you have to remove other parts first and those parts are highlighted in full *RED* color.
First advice. Things are red which you have to remove before removing the item you need. Second is your bought a performance ignition coil rather than normal which is why it was so expensive. Have to watch out for that
I’m sure you’ve gotten all the comments but with tires and braking systems the minimum I do is pairs even at a slight bit to me if necessary. Don’t want to send a customer off with a new left front brake component and the right be subpar haha. There’s a threshold of acceptability that depends on the tech.
You can repair parts I'm not sure about dismantling them since that wasn't an option in the games before that I have played, but may be a new feature. To repair parts you have to unlock the extra room and workbench in the tool box but they cost credits. Also to find parts that say part not discovered use tools you can buy in the tool box to find them easier
Hey Trevor the things highlighted red when your looking at parts is what you need to take of pr out before you can take the part you were looking at off or out
Don’t worry about not knowing any parts! A lot of other ppl don’t know either it’s all for fun! Great series but a real mechanic shop you’d hear more cussing😂
the parts that are red are usually performance parts and are more expensive so for cars that arent yours i suggest you buy the parts from the non performance shop so you can make more money from the job
They increase the payout from the job though so you actually make more profit using performance parts.
Best thing about the game. You don't have to worry about where that pesky 10mm socket is.
And that the parts you buy auto go in your inventory you should have to wait for someone to knock on your door and give you the parts.
I wonder if this is on easy mode. I wanna be pissed when I play the game, as if I’m looking through an organized tool box and some ass hole took the tool I needed the whole time.
@@Atarigen1 you just invented the mini game, find the socket.
Enjoy your Sunday evening everyone!
Waddup Trev, I hope you haven't forgotten about subnautica bz
It's Monday for me
You too trev
DO LSPDFR
Hope you do to!

As an everyday mechanic, this series makes me happy. I know it’s only the second video but I love it.
I sorta forgot half the engine that's OK.....lol
How much accurate this simulator is?

Didn’t think I would enjoy this series… but I really do love it! Keep this series going!

21:35 Trev man, make sure to check blinker fluid level in next video. You will get extra points.
Always gotta drain it before you take the tail lights out.
🤣🤣🤣
Thank u couldnt figure out why I was not finish the jobs 🤣🤣🤣

This would be such a great game in VR
It is in VR
Play job simulator auto shop
They now have car mechanic simulator on v r aswell
Ayee, 69th ✌️
And it is for the low low price of 19.99$
13:35 Trev literally didn’t even know what he was saying too 😂
Trevor after you fix a vehicle, you get a case, so when you open them you get different parts. So don't forget to open them.
His reaction to the engine bay was everything i felt. I took everything off and still it wouldnt unlovk the damn camshaft
AMAZING series man!
Trev, the tuning shop has improved parts, so those parts give more power to the car
The ignition coil and spark plug are in the electronic shop
Alright trev ? When you asked the question can you make the faulty parts show up? Yes you can if the customer knows what they want changing. Pull up the job card and press the star button next to the part name.

With adhd it’s hard to focus and your the only youtuber that I actualy watch the full episodes so thank you
When you're taking a part off, if there's a part preventing you from taking the part off, it will turn Red.
From watching diesel play it and he explains everything. Trev plays and doesn't know anything but still love it.
I was just watching your draw my life video (again) and Wow! You have come a long way! Nice job! Keep it up!
Me being a mechanic looking at Trev and going nope not gonna come off yet!!! Trev this is so easy lmao. Love this!!!!
I love how whenever he get something wrong he just says "just kidding" like he knew it was wrong.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
