Its funny that we really do sometimes blame God for things in our life. God is God no matter what, or where we are in life. He loves us no MATTER where we are in life. If you allow the Holy Spirit to take hold and hold you up, he will give you peace - joy - comfort - the kind of love that we cannot understand! God Bless you and keep you.
Much of our confusion comes from the misconception that God is a vending machine, that our answers to prayer fall out when we ask. The truth is that God is a farmer, that he slowly grows the answers to our prayers, that he respects his law of sowing and reaping, of cause and effect. If we sow destruction in our lives, don't expect God to bring a harvest of blessing. Rather repent, learn, grow, and sow blessings in order to harvest blessings. And when disaster comes from out of nowhere, continue to abide and seek comfort in his embrace.

I my life during my conversion to Christianity I turned away from that song because it was too secular John lennon I think was agnostic. Just now a few min. Ago I found a new version of it in the Christian style. Very good. Beautiful. The yong lady singing wonderful.

Hi Frank. I'm SO sorry for the struggles you've been going through, and I praise and thank Him that you are okay. I understand about struggling with yourself because I have with myself for most of my life. For over 40 years of my life I was ashamed of who I was. My military experiences destroyed me inside and on October 27, 2004, I was at the point of suicide. I had a plan and time set aside. I sent an email to my favorite singer and Pastor...not that I expected he would ever get it but I did it because I had to tell someone, anyone, how much I was hurting. On October 29, 2004 I checked my email one last time in case there was something I may have left undone for my family and I found a reply from Dan Dean. I'm still here today because of that message. I've still struggled through the years but now, 17 years after that message, I know who I am in Christ and I actually love the me that I've always hated and been ashamed of. God was always there, I just didn't know how to see Him. I'm so thankful for your message here, and I'm praying for you as soon as I post this. You are loved by me and so many more than you can possibly be aware of, and especially by God. Right here is where I come to when those feelings start creeping in. ❤️

Going through a really rough time. I just moved about 6 weeks ago and have attended Pastor Phillips church in Marble Falls. What an incredible blessing of events that God led me to this church. What an awesome God we serve.

And this powerful truth is shared by all of us who love Him. The song speaks to a situation I went through several months ago. I had been praying for my prodigal son continuously. He and his wife called me one day and told me that they were expectinga baby. This would be their fourth try with three previous miscarriages. They told me that they actually had heard the heartbeat and didn’t want to tell me until they were sure. The very next day my son told me that an ultrasound showed the baby was dead. I still cry thinking about it and feeling the same raw question expressed in this song. How could this be gods answer to bringing back my prodigal? I still don’t know. but I am sure I will someday, but I do know that He is still God. Several sisters in Christ helped me backup as I struggled through this and returned to the same truth expressed here so powerfully. Thank you for this beautiful song.

Just sitting here listening to this again and again, as my mind replays a ticker tape of all the low spots in life... The places where faith and fear reside together... Where everything feels uncertain and unpredictable because all we know is what we can see, which is how we attempt to control things in our lives... When that feeling of control is seemingly ripped from our grasp fear is a natural response... It's OK to be afraid you know. That's really not a lack of faith... It is a lack of understanding... Since we cannot see the end result and have no apparent control of the end result. We cannot force ourselves to believe anything... Forced believing out of a fear of the most terrible ending possible is not Faith... It is asserting our own desires on God to fix something because WE can't. However, it is fear mixed with humility that produces true faith. Perfect Love casts out fear. So Faith that is birthed from a humble spirit that is afraid becomes stronger when the fear is defeated by the understanding of Love. Giving God the room to move to fix something according to His will that we were never meant to fix anyway.

Isn't it crazy to think the same God who was with Adam and Eve, and all the stories and characters throughout the Bible is the very same God this song is speaking of? This song, says exactly why Proverbs 3:5&6 is my life verse because at the end of the day God is still God so that's why we should trust in Him in the good, bad or ugly.

You have always been one of my favorite Christian bands. Your music through the years has always felt like the psalms of David... A broken heart just trying to understand. Which was a healing balm to my soul, to know I was not alone. This song is what real faith looks like... Because we only know in part... Our natural tendency is to want to fill in the blanks with our own ideas of how things would or should go... But faith leaves those blanks open so that God can finish writing the story. Which is what He has been doing this whole time... In each one of our lives. This isn't the end of the story... It is the beginning of a new one. ❤
