Hi Alan, thank you so much for sharing your views on MLT 560 and this hymer. (Happy Tesla here). Yes, we will rent + rent + buy used motorhome. Because we are not from EU (from Australia), we are limited to 3.5ton of vehicle. After carefully calculate everything we need to bring to a motorhome (after we buy one of our own), we realised 400+ kg of payload is a-must for us. And if we occasionally bring our parents to travel around Europe, it means we need at least 520+ kg of payload. For 3.5ton that is almost impossible! And that is just 20 litre of fresh water! Anyway, MBC and MLT are great options. We did the configuration, there are a very long list of options! Thank you for showing the driving assistance feature, now we understand the cross-wind assistance's value and collision-avoidance feature, etc. Payload wise, we keep changing our mind.... Hyper is a good option if we only go with 2 sleepers (but 4 seats). If we want 4 sleepers for the "rare" occasion we are interested in Dethleffs' Trend I 6757 .... we are curious if they are as good?
Dethleffs is also a Hymer brand but it is a cheaper Hymer brand so therefore it has not go so many expensive items inside! Many of the parts are the same but the overall design and durability in a Hymer is superior in my opinion. I think rather than drag around an extra bed on the offchance that someone might use it, better to use campbeds or similar which are light, easy to carry, there is space for them in the aisle and you don't bang your head on them every time you stand up!
Thats a nice one! -I like the freshwater tanksize. Dont know how motorhome-designers think when there is a freshwatertank under 100liters and 4-to 6 beds or seats? Not everybody will be able too take a shower?! I found the shower to be a little small in this one. When i try out motorhomes i do the: -"Drop the soapTest". -Get in the shower, close the doors, and then simulate: try to reach a dropped soap. (without opening the doors)..
I agree with your comments on buying a vehicle,Alan,I bought my current van with 1000kms on the speedometer and 6 months old,the previous owner having lost at least 12000 euros on the purchase price,a lot of money to decide you don't like motorhome life
Sebastian George this was in 2017,I believe since the pandemic of covid the prices of many motor home has gone up due to demand,I've been told that my van would now make the same price as I paid for it

I agree that it looks very similar but the style is different, the B Class is more of a 'comfort' model whilst the MLT I think, is more of a hard case. The chassis is also different. I have an MLT coming tonight by the way!

Doesn't matter how good it looks or how good the layout is. Bottom line is that Hymer is now wholly owned by US Thor Industries. Thor has the lowest customer satisfaction in the US. Considering that American RV customers are ALREADY resigned to low quality and low workmanship, the fact that Thor has a bad reputation should be a warning to European buyers. Thor is "famous" for speed of production, this is their marketing spin, for built it as fast as you can and let the warranty folks take care of the shoddy workmanship. American companies are not ashamed of building low quality products if they can sell them at a high price. High profit margins is supreme.
Hmm Fully support the rent to try for size idea but the whole "DON'T BUY NEW" rant is unwarranted Putting aside folks that have figured out exactly what they want and maybe done a factory order you have to accept that the way the 'van' ecosystem gets populated is by people buying new units. May not be their perfect fit so they move it on and get something else but then you have a second hand van market. Ranting about not buying new is not helpful

Wouldn't this model be more a Class C motorhome? I tought class B were more like campervans like Sprinter, Ducato, etc
Class C in the US yes, but Hymer calls it a Class B!

Why do you want a 7m over 6m ? Parking has to be alot harder to find in small towns etc
