I think this is the in depth guide we really need. I know the fuel weaver is very frustrating to players. So much so they opt to cheese it. Thanks for helping explain some of these nuances. There is actually a little bit more to understanding why this happens though. Why dodging the first bone cage leads to 6 spiral spikes. This is primarially due to cooldown and the first spiral always counts if you are fighting.
@@CarrionMorris well you saw the chat ;] wanna actually go deep into the code on it There are things on there i don't know how they activate if they even can.
Its a little hard to explain but I'll try: there is a range in which bone cage is able to be summoned and a range at which it is no longer able to appear. These are two different stats. The max range that he is able to start his summon is 12 units, while the max range that he is able to finish his summon is 15 units. To dodge bone cage you have to have him start his summon animation while you are within 12 units away from him, and then before he finishes his animation move outside of the 15 units. The reason the first one didn't work is because I didn't move outside of the 15 unit range when he started his animation. Another thing to note is that if bone cage is his next attack, and you are farther than 12 units away he will start walking towards you to close the distance. Its really important for this to be within the 12 unit range before trying to dodge, which is why when I successfully do it I do a small pause while running away from him, which is to give him time to start the animation before I run outside of the 12 unit range. Hope this helps
@@CarrionMorrisPretty sure he's referring to how it's not intuitive to figure out this mechanic. From the perspective of a casual player, it feels like you're forced to sit in bone cage and tank at times. This is even more true on console where LE and WP are incredibly frustrating to use. But if you can avoid bone cage phase one it makes this fight feel much fairer. Thanks for this video BTW I've done this once on accident and didn't understand why the other times I've fought him, he spams it in phase one
If you want to see a flawless execution of the fight with Wormwood and easy-to-get resources, Ameslarii does this with Wormwood and it only takes 5 minutes. He also did a really easy rendition of the fight as Wormwood that let's you fully tank and defeat the Fuelweaver in just two or three invulnerable cycles. And honestly, it's pretty dang cheap by Wormwood standards. Honestly, he's not even that fragile after the skill spotlight.

Are you gonna make our own video on fuelweavers mechanics soon?

@@DVGMedia1 yeah Ive never been good enough at that stuff to understand how the code translates to game mechanics for intricate things like that
Wow, thats some analysis you done.❤
Amazing video! thank you for this in-depth insight!

Can you explain why you successfully dodged the second time but not the first? It looks the same

Does this work on console? Like is it the same range to dodge?
Yes
Maybe after few years we'll figure out that 2nd phase is fair too
what?

It is, unless you have a skill issue
