LP-6 V2: $199
LP-8 V2: $249
IN-5 V2: $349
IN-8 v2: $399
Kali is an engineering company that posts educational speaker videos and lets the products sell themselves. Bravo.
Please keep releasing high-quality products at low prices.
Loving my LP-8's thank you for such great quality for the price point.. FYI Guitar Center is having a huge sale on LP's
I'm loving my LP-6s, and will soon add the WS-12.
@mithail oh man... I wonder...
Kali in5 for me. Using them for a atmos room. You should do a sub extension for the in5/8. Make them a 4 way..
Recently purchased a pair of the LP-8 V2 monitors and I am thoroughly impressed and blown away with the clarity and punch of the bass, even at low volumes.
Next in line is a pair of the IN-8 3-way monitors. If you happen to have a pair of those lying around and feel up to donating a set, maybe in exchange for a review, I’m only an email away.😁🤙 Drool worthy is an understatement!🤤
Hats off to you for creating quality and affordable monitors for home and/or studio recording. 5 stars all around! Bravo!
Thanks!
@@kaliaudio You’re most welcome!🤙
I recently purchased the in I recommend the speakers if you don’t have the space fives the white addition I noticed that it has a little hissing noise but that’s OK and I recently got the WS 12 subwoofer to go with them
Thanks for another practical and helpful video. What do you suggest for someone who'd like to buy a pair of active monitors for TV/movie watching. I enjoy listening to music a great deal. (I recently sold my $10k system, since I moved to Vietnam). Thanks 🍻
Check out the MM-6! It's the LP-6 v2 but with consumer inputs!
Hi! First of all very nice job, I think you have radically changed speakers market. I’m a producer and I work in an environment which is not super treated. I tried lp6 and they are super cool but I’m looking for IN8. The problem is that I’m scared that even if they are “better” then 5s all that low end will be a problem rather than a plus. Does 5s have enough bass or nothing compared to the 8s? Thanks
If you have the space and budget for the IN-8, they are the right choice.
@@kaliaudio Thanks for the answer!
I am trying to decide the same thing. What did you end up getting?
Have owned iloud mtms in past, but the company is not good to work with apparently, where as you are clearly superior in that respect and customer service as I can see online so well done as that’s very important to me. My question is, I really liked the iloud mtm hooked up to my digital piano playing vsts and the samples of the piano itself, the sound was pretty much perfect to me, I’d like to purchase a pair of Kali monitors for playing my piano through at home, I need something that will give me the iloud quality, I’m looking at Kali in8 but maybe that’s overkill for my needs as obviously they’re big and loud and I only need nearfield monitors, I think more bass the better though for piano playing, so I’d like to know which model you’d recommend please from your range, if you give me a good answer and reason I’ll buy your product and not the iloud mtm as I plan to….
The IN-5 would be a great choice for you as well, and smaller.
You should also check out the IN-UNF!
I'm planning on using the INs as my front channels in Home Theater. What would be the better choice in your opinion, buying three IN 5s and using the third as a center channel (flipped horizontally, cause why not), or buying two IN 8s and using them without the center? Right now where i live, the IN 8s are around 400$ a piece, whereas the IN 5s are around 300$ a piece. Also i should mention that space is smaller of an issue compared to the budget, unfortunately. Many thanks!
If you have a lot of content that's in 5.1 (like the Netlix app) then it's definitely worth it to go with more speakers. If most of the content is stereo, get IN-8s.
which speaker should I get for very nearfield (under 1m) desktop application for mixing bass heavy music?
IN-5s if you have the budget. Otherwise LP-6s
I am interested in getting a pair of IN-5, but I wonder why is the IN-8 V2, but not IN-5? Is it because IN-5 is new, and didn't exist before?
My room is 11x13x10, so I am afraid the IN-8 would be too big and not as good for mixing and monitoring near-field. Thanks for your help!
The IN-5 are all V2. There is no V1.
I need to change my speakers fast I really want to get serious with mixing and mastering I have a small room so I am going for smaller monitors now my budget definitely doesn’t fit the IN5 will it be advisable to just wait till I can afford the IN5 or to just go for the LP6
Jacob Collier made much of Djesse Vol. 3 on LP-6s. There's no reason you can't make a great record on them!
Sorry I'm a novice, but I thought it would be nice to use these as home theatre surround sound. How would they do as Auro3D speakers on the wall? I've been looking at bookshelfs and I found Kali rated very high, but if you don't recommend that what would you suggest? I need a total of 6 on the top height layer at 10 feet on the wall which is 30 degrees elevation from the middle MLP. 1 speaker over each of the front main L/C/R and surrounds. Then the Top Height (vog) speaker from the ceiling. If I can't use Kali I was just going to get some decent bookshelves I guess, thanks.

What do you recommend for DJ Mixing. I do see people recommending me Powered/Active PA System.
This is for home. I actually am wanting to have a fun hi-fi sound, sacrificing clinicalness, accuracy, distortion for punchy bass at low volumes and I want that punch to travel far. I don’t mean I’ll be standing a long way away, it’s just I want to feel the bass punch and propagate far without having to shred my ears with high freqs by cranking speakers up super loud, just to get more bass. I’m also in a very large room.
I currently have pair of HS8 plus kali 6.2 sub.
They give me terrible ear fatigue. So I was thinking either 1. Ribbon tweeter/adams 2. In-5 or in-8 3. PA System
If you're happy with the output of the HS-8s, the IN-8s would be a fantastic upgrade, and MUCH less fatiguing. If you're getting fatigued by those Yamahas, a ribbon tweeter might not be a good choice. If you're not getting the output level you want, PA speakers are a good choice.
I’m so close to ordering the in8 2. Wave but they might be a bit to big for my setup is there a 7” on the way? In white or is the in 8 coming in a white finish any time soon?
There is not a 7 on the way, and we will probably do white, but probably not until at least 2023.
@@kaliaudio ok thank you for the quick answer
How is the bass quality (not quantity) of the IN-8 vs the IN-5?
Is it the same motor and coil in the woofer?
Smaller motor and coil. The IN-8 plays down a tad bit lower and gets a tad bit louder, all with lower distortion. If you're not at the extremes of the speakers' performance, you won't notice a huge difference, but once you get past about 2 meters from the speakers, the extra oomph that the IN-8 has becomes really apparent.
What if you have a small untreated room? Should we get the 8’s or something smaller?
A small untreated room is gonna be problematic no matter what size speaker you put in there. That said, check out the IN-UNF! If anything is going to play friendly in a small room, it's that.
I really want the white IN5, may I ask when it will be sold publicly?
Most of our US retailers will have stock in the coming months!
What minimal distance for listening is recommended for in-5 and for in-8 v2?
3.5 Meters for IN-5, 4 for IN-8!
At a loss to choose between the LP-6v2 vs LP-8v2. Which has a better balanced broad range sound? Is the bass identical between the two, assuming normal driving levels or is the lp9 noticeably better? How about the midrange?
Personally, I prefer the LP-8 and I'd say that if you have the budget and space for it, it's the better choice. It does have noticeably lower distortion than the LP-6.
Some people find it slightly bass-heavy however.
@@kaliaudio Ok...just ordered an LP-8v2 and hope its as good as you say. But if I don't like the sound, can I exchange it for an LP-6v2 or even get a refund?
which in's should I use with sub ws6.2 in near field 1-1,5m in room about 20m2?
IN-5 would fit the bill PERFECTLY.
Are the kali in8 a good choice for general music listening? I need speakers for a 2.0 stereo
They're an excellent choice!
Definitely -- at $800/pair, there's no combination of passive speakers and stereo amp that can touch them for pure listening enjoyment IMO. FWIW, I've had mine since the "2nd Wave" upgrade came out last spring, and I love them now more than ever.
I’m wondering whether the in 5 or the 8’s are the right choice. I’m wondering what distance the 5’s should be compared to the 8’s. You talked about space but it seemed like you were talking about space in terms of speaker placement but not room size. Is there a point where the 5’s would be better for a smaller room?
Thank you in advance
If you have the budget and the space for the speaker, the IN-8 is a better choice. That said, if you're within about 6 feet of the speaker, it is unlikely that you'll notice a difference.
@@kaliaudio thank you for that. Yea, I’m within the 6ft mark. I currently have 8inch at the moment and feel My room is too small for these, so I wanted to test out smaller drivers to see if it makes a difference. I have just ordered the IN5 yesterday. Looking forward to testing it out!!
Thanks for the reply
@@take5877 Did you get yours yet?
@@jadenphan8106 Hi Jaden. Yes I got them
@@take5877 How is it?? :)
which model is better for playing guitar with interface ?
for your use, you probably don't need a ton of low end, so the LP-6 would be great!
I want to invest in this company
I would like to know which speaker system would suit me best for a 5.1 film sound mixing setup. Given the room dimension is 21ft L * 13ft W * 10ft H.
You'd be fine with either IN-5 or IN-8. If this was my room and money was no issue, I'd probably use IN-8 for LCR and and IN-5 for surrounds.
@@kaliaudio Thank you for the suggestion. I already have the LP6 as a stereo setup, i am planning to use them as surrounds, and INs as LCR. I have one more query, will the IN8s be good enough for dialogue editing, since i need exceptional clarity in the midrange.
@@arnabborah-thesoundguy2460 HA! Yes. Try finding something better, lol. They're superb for that.
@@kaliaudio Thank you very much for the response. Will go for the INs then.
For a small studio room (~ 100 sqft), is there any guidance about IN-8 or IN-5, whether both or the IN-5 one will suit better?
If you're within about 6 feet (2 meters) of the speakers, you're not gonna notice a HUGE difference between the -8 and the -5 at safe listening levels. And you'll probably appreciate the form factor of the smaller one.
@@kaliaudio Thanks for your reply. You mentioned about the cones rattling with the -5. Can that be a motivation to go for the -8 (if we were to ignore the form factor)?
@@musicCurator the cones don't rattle but they do move back and forth more, which increases distortion at high output. Yes, that's a good reason to choose the -8, but the benefit at safe listening levels at a distance less than 6 feet is going to be negligible.
@@kaliaudio Ah.. I see what you mean. Within 6 feet, we are still at low enough listening level that the cones do not distort yet. Thanks!
go 10inch for in-series!
