Last year I picked up a Line 6 M13 for 50 bucks on FB Marketplace. The ODs aren’t really my flavor but I have pedals that do that beautifully. The rest of the effects do all I need.
Love seeing fluff go back to his roots with a kick-ass gear review I personally LOVE rack gear. Great for both studio and live use so much more ergonomic, intuitive and user friendly than anything 100% "in the box" due to its adaptability
The Edge never had this in his rack. Line 6 did build him a custom DM4 Pro since he was using multiple DM4 pedals in the studio. I believe they built 5 in total.
I have one. I also have the filter version. Could never get the modulation one however. I always wanted Line 6 to make a new generation of these, but I guess the Helix covers that now.
A few years ago, you could buy these used for $250 or so. That's a fair price. Anything over that is just hype I'd say. It's the exact same sounds as the DL4 but in a rack format and supposedly with 'better' converters. So the DL4 reissue will probably do all you need if you want these sounds. Rack is cool though, I'd like there to be a bit of rack resurgance (without the price tag). Vintage rack gear has sky rocketed since covid.
We need to put pressure on line 6 to re-release these units. The mod pro is awesome too. I have written to line 6 asking where all the rack gear is? Not really a reply. Write to them if you want this stuff
I have that unit and the Pro Mod as well I got them both when they came out but unfortunately I don't have the boxes. Fluff you should do a video with the Line 6 Pro Mod
No this was before the HD500. The reason to get this is the hands-on tweakability of it. You wont have to scroll through pages to get to the delays, just reach over.
It's neat, but for $800, that's a tough sell when you can literally recreate any sound this thing can make with the built in generic plug ins in Pro-Tools. You might have to split it into multiple bands or sidechain it, but it's definitely achievable.
Digitech suffered the same thing. The effects were great but the actual amps and cabinets were never the strong suit. I’ve NEVER liked any of Digitech or line 6 amps and cabinet modelers but the effects are very worth it. I’ve still got and use a very old Digitech rp360 that has great effects but the amp and cabinets sims are just meh at best.
I find line 6 effects are good but have never really like any overdrive or distortion they always sound to sharp that was until pod go the amp distortions sound good but yet again the pedals don’t sound good idk ?
man line 6 was never any good more less the ass end of gear much like traynor amps absolute crapola. even now with yamaha owning line 6 it hasn't gotten any better
🎶 He has the box.🎶

Came here to say the same thing. The Edge uses mostly vintage tc electronics delays or something like that
Merry Christmas, Fluff.
Thanks for the hours of watchable content you create.
My favorite rack delay from back in the day
Merry Christmas, Fluff!
Duuude! What timing….I just received a used one of these bad boys yesterday lol. Nice to see you using Pro Tools! 🔥🤘
Say what you want about Line6, but their guitar effects are astonishingly good. I still rock a POD HDPro simply for the effects.
Still have the three in the set. BUT They did make a RACK MOUNT distortion one but for the Edge only - Go figure!
remember kids, just because it's old doesn't mean it's bad!.
For guitarists it should be "just because it's old doesn't mean it's good" 😂
@ that too! Lol
Always wanted this for some reason.
Now I need a video on the FM4

I have the mod pro, its amazing. Apparently they made just a few preamps in this line aswell
Morning!
Merry Christmas
One of the best Delay units. Use it for mixing on an Aux lol

2000!?!? Thought for sure these things were older, geuss not
With the way music tech evolution keeps exponentiating from year to year, 20 yrs looks like 100 now.
The rack unit is 2002
I have that unit and the Pro Mod as well I got them both when they came out but unfortunately I don't have the boxes. Fluff you should do a video with the Line 6 Pro Mod
I will try to find one
PLEASE write a full song with this!
It’s is, it’s called Rat Race by Resider it’s on Spotify😊
@@RiffsAndBeardsjust checked them out, sounds AMAZING 🖤🔥
It is vintage already? Damn, I am old.
So what is it hd500 level delays in a rack?
He tells you right at the beginning.

Rack gear all the way......
10:16 But a pitch ain’t one

You just made these cost $1500 for the next few weeks. Do your own ridiculous reverb listing on it.😂
Fluff in protools......
Get a Lexicon MPX1 instead!

Selling mine for $1150 plus $150 shipping, because that's how it works right? A big UA-camr makes a video and it goes up in price. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Vintage?! Come on man, 70’s is vintage, the 00’s were just a few years ago.
man line 6 was never any good more less the ass end of gear much like traynor amps absolute crapola. even now with yamaha owning line 6 it hasn't gotten any better
Hard disagree my guy
