How loud is that controller's fan, and what's that dmx receiver thing that plugs into it that looks like a key, what does it do & why do I need it, I just want to light up my tiny studio.
I did not find the fan to be too loud.... however if needed you could add an extension header cable and hide the ballast behind something in your studio, as long as it can vent properly... if you feel its too loud. you only need DMX if you need to run off a lighting console like "Blackout" etc, if you are just using the godox APP or adjusting manually you will never need it...
@@GaffersSalon Thanks, would you take this over the Godox FL150s? I'm also looking for a proper keylight like the Nanlite Forza 60ii or the 150 version, what do you think?
@@Sir-Kay I don;t know FL150, I'd say if you like the 200b godox I'd also look at Amaran 22x/c - the Godox head is IP rated but for inside a studio this does not matter. The F22C is a full color unit and is quite good, i own 3.
@@GaffersSalon I've heard of them, they're supposedly good but, damn! those units would cost me an organ or two. If only they made them affordable for the common man.
I prefer the Amaran F22c - I did a video on that one as well, mostly about modifications however I do own the larger f600bi from Godox (also reviewed that one as well).
thank you great review

Great review but I would like to ask, do you prefer this or F22X (or F22C)?

what's the fan noise like?
I don’t recall hearing it, will pull it out at the shop today and check…
Very quiet - had it running at full for 30min and had to put my ear down close to hear the fan….
@@GaffersSalon Thanks for the feedback. I heard the apurture light's power supply was really loud.
@@JackZucker I own 2 f22c and f21c no issues - bit louder then Godox but have not proved to be issue
@@GaffersSalonthe fan noise here is really bad IMO...ua-cam.com/video/i5P1XJFD69A/v-deo.html
