Nice comparison video guys. I modified some lone wolf sticks down to 20 inches and love them. I bought them used for around $100. I’m using daisy chains and a cable aider. Total weight is 1.66lbs. I can get to about 17’ with 3 sticks and a rope aider like you showed.
Wish you would have reviewed if they wobbled or how well they stay in place on tree.
Came across this video looking for info on climbing sticks and caught me by surprise when you said Lancaster. I live here and hunt locally, what are the odds! Great info you’ve provided in this video, thank you
Good video and informative. Thanks for sharing - its good to see hunters from my home state bring out videos.
Thanks for watching!! Make sure to subscribe to watch our future hunts from this fall! We are gonna try to put out 1 or 2 a week during the season! Gonna be a fun year!
Thanks guys.. I'm gonna go with the muddy ones.. this helped alot ty
Thanks for the video. I might mention, 1.9 lbs is not the same as the 1 lb 9 oz that I think the scale was reading. It’s 1.56 lbs. Other than that, good information!!
Men very good job on this video, very educational on all the products.
I have the W.E. steps, they are light, but a pain to tie the knot, and strap in complete darkness! 6 will only get you around 17'. U must use aiders if you want any higher. Make sure you mole skin the crap out of them. Also the bag they come in sux
Yeah I think I heard Jason saying he was gonna just run his muddy sticks instead. Like you said hard to do in the dark and get camed correctly. Thanks for watching make sure to subscribe to our channel to watch more hunts and more reviews!!
For the more rotund or older hunter you didn’t give weight limits. I fit into both categories unfortunately. Otherwise pretty darn thorough and really liked the stand-off data.
I wish you would explain what aiers are and daisy chains. I have no idea what those words are. Never heard those words. Not everyone is up on these things. I would have like to have seen where u all tried them and there was a clear winner. What works for thin guy might not work for a beefier guy.
Good point! We’ll be making another video this off-season with sticks and we’ll definitely keep that in mind! Subscribe to our channel for more videos almost daily!
Thanks for the video a lot of interest. Some of us are a little heavier. How does weight load for the steps. I'm also going to ask this question in the Facebook post
Thanks for watching! Make sure to subscribe for more hunts this fall! I really don’t know what the weight rating is on any of the sticks. I’m sure they are all rated for 350+ pounds. When you pull down on the sticks after they are hung, all the sticks dig into the tree very good. I don’t think you’ll have a problem with any of these sticks. All of them feel super secure and all feels like great quality! Maybe if you have a couple different sticks pick out give the companies a call or email and ask if there is a weight limit! -Lane
@@InThePresence thanks for getting back to me. I did subscribe to the page. Looking forward to more videos
Thanks for all the info!

Where are beast sticks, lone wolf custom gear?
How can not have the beast sticks?
You have to sell your first born for Beast sticks and order now foe next year.
Lancaster county as in South Carolina?
Gotcha, I’m looking at trying out the novix mini sticks but they only get you roughly 12-13 foot do you think that is good enough height or should I go full size sticks?
@@jasonroddey3331 I run them and I can get higher then that if I stretch them. But if you get a 2 step aider for 2 of them and stretch I bet you'd easily get 20ft
In The Presence do you feel like with out an aider your able to get high enough to where the deer won’t bust you easily does the 4 sticks get you up enough to your liking? What do you prefer the mini or the standard full size stick
Jason Roddey I have the mini novix and the full length lone wolfs. Honestly I hunt a lot of mountain terrain and a lot of public so for me I like the minis. Definitely get me high enough to where I’m not busted by eye sight. And with Amstel daisy chains weight difference is pretty noticeable. I think I took my lone wolfs on 1 hunt so far this year. Honestly prefer the minis. Just watch cause they don’t dig into the tree great.
Lancaster county Pennsylvania?!
@@InThePresence holy crap. I’m from Akron! What part of LanCo if you don’t mind me asking?
@@codyhouser1313I'm from Manheim, same with Alex and Aaron. Jason and Mitch are more Southern Lancaster like Holtwood area. Tim is from York. And Ben is up in Tioga -Lane
@@InThePresence holy crap, we all should get together and shoot someday!
No BEAST sticks? A competition of also rans.
Yeah we didn't have any beast sticks. These were are personal sticks that we bought. If you want to buy us beast sticks to try we will gladly lol
@@InThePresence I won’t buy them for you, but I could send you some you have to send them back though.
@@_jurist I got you. Yeah we'll be doing another one going over aiders and daisy chains here soon! Did you buy the beast stand? What's your thoughts on it?
@@InThePresence no didn’t buy the stand, I use the Lonewolf ambush, platform for my saddle.
I’m going to make, some aiders for the beast sticks. Using some climbing rope less than 3/8 of an inch and some fuel line.
@@_jurist awesome man! I’m a saddle hunter too! I got a tethrd system and I love it! I haven’t hunted out of a tree stand in years! Sweet, I got Novix mini sticks that I used with daisy chains and it was super handy! I’m gonna make aiders for it this year, should get me up another couple feet! -Lane
Nice review fellas. Check out our channel as well and get us back with a sub! Good luck this year and God bless!
Lol the Shikar doesnt belong in this comparison.. its leaps and bounds above...
Have been running the hawk helium for a few years as they are the most reasonable when caught on sale and they have some neat features. Did mod them to amsteel daisy chains. Put a Hawk small platform on top of one of them to try out saddle hunting. Primal is now is licensed to the wild edge steps and use a cam buckle. It’s easier but the strap disintegrates if left to the elements, definitely check them for safety. I like ing the wild edge as a ring of steps for saddle as well as one above for a good place to hang items off of and use as a hand hold if needed.
Also have switched to carbon sticks on-a whim. They are very light and pack easier, a little nervous about their longevity. When carbon/epoxy stuff fails its pretty gnarly and out of nowhere. Thanks for great content!
