When something like that is designed, it’s part of the process to design it to hold a certain amount of vehicles and passengers. They know how many rivets are in the Forth Railway Bridge, and this lot cannot say how many seats are in their toilet.
No wonder the U.K. doesn't build ships anymore. Why wasn't this ferry built overseas correctly from a yard with a good reputation? Some people need to be investigated for awarding a contract without cost benefit analysis. This stinks.
If this committee had real teeth they could ream the SNP, Ferguson Marine, CMAL and Cal-Mac. It would be a real laugh if Sturgeon and Swinney did the official launch and something goes haywire.
As someone else has commented using LESS when it should be FEWER. Not only cannot this politician get it right neither can so-called "journalists". A few more irritating habits/errors : Starting every sentence with "so". Using "of" when it should be "have". Saying "haitch" when it should be "aitch". Everything in life is now "challenging" apparently. "Prostrate" when the user means prostate. That always amuses me.
Yet another major project way over budget,way over time limit. Don’t they employ people to design to a budget, build to a budget and timeline. Was there a project manager that was qualified? Surely there are penalty clauses built into the contracts? No wonder we use foreign shipbuilders they build on time, on budget.
In the past I was a passenger on most cal Mac ferries, it’s so sad to see this service struggling because of a rogue Scottish government. I feel for the Scottish people suffering because of them, good luck Scotland on restoring your ferries, I’m in favour of you getting your own rule buy those people in power are disgraceful to Scotland.🏴

Stuart Blantyne, now based in Australia, presented plans for Ferries to be built in Scottish Yards, which not only cost less to build but were also far more efficient using some 60% less fuel. These got knocked back. I was shocked to learn that Scotland's Civil Service are actually under the control of Westminster.
Fake news. Ministers over-ruled CMAL who didn't want to give Fergusons the contract because they could not provide mandatory financial safeguards. While CMAL and CALMAC may not be blameless the SNP's hands are all over this fiasco.
We have been on many Calmac ferries, for the Arran route, why didn't they copy the MV Isle of Mull design, rather than be smart arses and design something radically useless?.
