Almost every battle before this one was a tutorial or easy street. Wei He Fei Castle was hands down the top 3 most difficult. This is where all the boys became men.
I like how this song debuted all the way back in DW3, but people mostly remember it for that one Sima Yi level in DW8. Makes sense cause this song only plays for like 5 minutes on the Wei side of He Fei Castle.
Started playing this game when i was 10. When i was 14 or 15 I had done nearly everything. I had 2-3 Unique weapons to get. Next time i got on, none of my stats were there. Come to find out my 9yr old brother had "accidentally" erased my data from my memory card thinking it was his memory card. I nearly broke down, as that was easily 200+ hrs of gameplay lost.
This stage...home to the single hardest 5th weapon to get of all time. Sima Yi. Gotta defeat 4 playable characters within 9 minutes. Legit basically impossible to do single player. I had to use a 2nd player with a death weapon like Cao Cao 4th weapon and still barely got it!!!
Holy shit I haven’t heard this in so long…damn I used to come back from school and rinse the hell out of this game with Gan Ning haha! Oh the nostalgia just hit man
I still can’t forgive the fact that on the Wei side, you finally get a small unit of reinforcements, only for Wu to then get reinforcements so you had then rescue your supposed support 😩
Probably because it's the only song that uses trumpets and actually has an Three Dynasty Chinese feeling to it. Most of the others are great, but it's mostly you blasting people to rock music
Ahh the game that got me into the whole Romance of the three kingdom games. I played every Dynasty warrior game and Romance of the three kingdoms game. I love everyone of the games either just hack and slash style of the DW games or the tactical game from the ROTK games.
I think Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 or 9 was my absolute favorite of both the series. One of my favorites of all time, I pumped so many hours into it. The tactical aspects were so fun. I'd usually push for massive archer armies and just try to power my way through resistance.
This is a familiar battle, I remember my brother and I got here together under leveled it was on either normal or hard mode but what I do remember is that the bow guys were dangerous as all hell doing 70 percent damage to us, and just as we were seeing our generals fall, we lost all our men leaving just us two and one main general boss (the one you can't let die or else you fail). I had Sima Yi, and this battle just felt so intense and just when I was about to get to the main enemy I got overwhelmed by a horde of bow and arrow forces and aggressive generals, my brother got on horseback and tried to come to my aid because I went too far away there had to be thousands of soldiers ganging up on me ,generals and all I'm barely hanging out and panicking "help me!!" lol, I was in serious trouble! Almost about to die, the music got more intense and before you know it my brother is running through a massive wave of bow guys tearing him apart....He didn't make it because I died...We regretted even playing it without a memory card because it had stopped working and we just wanted to play the game so rather than waiting until we got a memory card we tried playing the game without one and met our end on this exact stage because it was so damn hard.
Basically this stage is quite accurate to the romance : Wu forces were relentlessly attacking the castle with massive force while Wei only had, possibly a fraction of Wu but able to hold out until reinforcement.
@@hurricane7727 I wouldnt call Wei's 3000 vs Wu's 100000 outnumbered. Castle only had 3000 remaining force while Wu had at least 100000. This battle was supposed to co-exist aslongside Wu Zhang Plains

What a nuisance. Let my sons handle the tantrum of this bawling infant. My lord. What is it, my dear? I fear you have removed yourself too far. Our sons are off fighting. We are the only ones here in Luoyang. So surely, it falls to us to dispose of these infidels. Am I correct? Yes... We have no choice. More imbeciles, flailing mindlessly. Gosh man, the fire arrows on this stage were rage-inducing.
Anyone remember that corridor with the wall of arrows? Just absolute garbage on extreme difficulty.
Wasn't there an alt route you can take that was also pretty hard?

Just charge through with a horse
