The cinematography of Gattaca is amazing. It’s still an underrated film. When Jerome is in the incinerator his silver medal turns to gold because of the reflection of the fire
Ahhhhh!! My favorite reactors in all of UA-cam, you ladies are so beautiful and always have the BEST reactions!! Can’t wait to watch this with you two lovelies!! Love & smiles always❤
9:37 I think that this was the moment, when (the real) Jerome realized that he would end his own life. After Vincent said to him, that it would be the last time that they would be themselves, Jerome went quite and looked down without saying a single word.
“Gattaca” is a fantastic film that real movie buffs work hard to spread the word about. Tight and original script/story…superb performances by a stellar cast…incredible cinematography and the music/score is beautiful…I listen to it quite often…I watch the movie 2-3x per year and always enjoy it. It’s a wonderful film!
I've concluded that Uma Thurman's character was most likely born into a wealthy family. It would definitely explain how someone with her condition did not have to become a janitor or any other middle to lower class occupation. Her family could have bought her position in Gattaca or a spot at the University she attended🤔. Everyone in charge appears to know about her condition yet she was allowed in the Gattaca. The movie repeatedly stated that they look for flawless participates. Uma's character has a major flaw
The slogan here in México of this movie is "there is no gen for the human spirit". Thats the best ive seen in a movie póster. And in this movie is when ethan and uma became couple and married because she was pregnant from Maya Hawk
Never understood the hate for Anton. The dude was raised different, to treat those like his brother different, yet every step of the way throughout the movie he’s doing everything possible to save him. Completely denying that he could be the murderer, even though the evidence points to him, even feeling relief when Hugo tells him he found the actual murderer. Then at the end instead of turning him in he says he can help him and get him out of there. He doesn’t say “I’m arresting you for fraud, you trash human”. In spite of everything, Vincent was still his big brother and he felt that connection to him.
Maybe they cover this in the full reaction, but ::spoiler warning:: the doctor mentions at the end that his son was a big fan of Vincent, because his son was "not all that they promised. But then, who knows what he could do. Right?"
But that was the whole point of the movie. I generally describe Gattaca as "A story about a man who gets to go into space, because another man loves his own son"
Nothing to do with the stars when they swim. I think when Vincent beat Anton the first time it was because he was going to kill himself (didn’t save anything for the swim back). Then he realised he could push pass his expectations with that mindset, so he adapted that mindset for his life after that. Anton was not willing to die to win, so his mind wouldn’t let his body go the distance to keep up with Vincent.
Never heard or even see gataca before but it sounds rather interesting with the name gataca and very happy to watch It for the first time with my two special beautiful sweethearts Ellie and Michelle ❤😘😍🥰🤗.
@@zvimur I didn't even realise that or think of it that way of it having something to do with DNA components, never crossed my mind for a minute that . I figured it was something to do with space or something related to the solar system (planets , The Universe, Galaxies 🌌 e.t.c.) , but thank you for letting me know. You learn something new everyday 👍.
fun fact.. which a lot of people probably already know. uma thurman and ethan hawke met during the making of this movie, and later married. they had a daughter - maya - and pretty much everyone that have watched "stranger things" already knows who that is.
Believe it or not, Ethan Hawke actually did TWO futuristic sci-fi movies with a 1940s visual aesthetic. It sounds crazy, but it's true. He did Gattaca, and he was also the main character in Daybreakers (2009), which is sort of a dystopian near-future sci-fi vampire movie, with a major 1940s vibe. Daybreakers is more of a horror/action movie, soooo I don't know if you guys would like it. But I liked it!! I recommend it!
good choice girl, that movie is under the radar but it talk about actual decisive choice humanity have to do. And its a movie with the mythic Citröen DS, the most confortable car of all time, so its only can be a good one =)
me being a poc i’ve always felt like an Invalid person much like Vincent. this movie made me dream of escaping this horrible world and wanting to travel the stars. ❤ i will never ever be an astronaut 🤷♂️
This film ages so well. With the advances in genetic engineering and tools such as crispr and the field of biohacking, very interested to see what is in store for us
Please read. As Dross Rotzank, my favorite UA-camr, said. Have you ever seen a movie called Gattaca? I recommend it. Gattaca is based on a true event... Eugenics is genetic discrimination. The most intelligent, most gifted, tallest, strongest, most agile people rise to the top of society and the rest are left behind and contemplated for extermination. Before, eugenics was random, since there are babies that can be born with advantages (unique eyes, more intelligent or taller, for example) It is then believed that in the future the richest people, through genetic implants, will have more gifted and special children. Ordinary babies will be discriminated against. Let's hope that if it happens, Eugenics will be declared ILLEGAL. Thank you for reading.
Anton made what he learned , it is really his fault. Since very young it was said to him "Protect your brother because he is fragile." One day Vincent said him "Stop ! Don't do like our parents. I go, I don't need protection".

This is one of my favorite movie. Vincent worked there and the doctor likely recognized him. Uma&Ethan got married after this movie.
Great reaction from both of you to one of my favorite films of all time.
You were so smart and intuitive following the plot - ur both awesome.
I've been waiting for someone to react to this movie. So underrated.

The height surgery is real and it works by cutting the bone, putting a little space between them and the bone fuses together.
25:57
That is why I like Ellie the most.
She has no tolerance for petty crap.
One of the most underrated things of all time
❤ GATTACA (1997), it's Aesop's Fable "Tortoise and Hare" set in the future.
Who wants Pirates of the Caribbean 5 too?

Easy to miss that the doctor calls Vincent by his actual name and not his identity Jerome at the end.
I watch Gattaca once a year. One of my favourite movies.
my favorite movie of all time
Great choice !
Gone Girl (2014)
8:39 And then Eugene says: "Do you want to go dancing?" 😅 best joke of the movie.

Great video.
Jerome was more of a brother to Vincent than Anton was.
Anton made what he learned , it is really his fault.
Since very young it was said to him "Protect your brother because he is fragile."
One day Vincent said him "Stop ! Don't do like our parents. I go, I don't need protection".
