I was looking for a used TL here in hawaii, but came across a 2005 tsx with only 18k miles on it. KBB had it at 12-13k as value on what to sell it at. The daughter of the owner sold it to me for 8500 cause she leaves in two weeks and my bank only approved me for 8k cause i already have a loan with them for a truck i got brand new in 2013. Her dad got it brand new in 2005 but ended up keeping it as a vacation car only. So its been sitting in there garage until they came back to hawaii. I had acura check it out to see if they messed with the mileage and parts and everything checked out! Im pretty STOKED! I get it on tuesday after she pays the registration. Thanks for the video.
wow, that's a really great deal! enjoy the car, it's one of the great special cars from Honda/Acura!
+TheRuler OfAll If that's the light blue one on Oahu, then you got a DEAL. I was going to buy that car. Congrats
o have 240k on my tsx buddy and it still feel the same as 24k miles
Im getting one soon just like this. I'm excited!
+yaamanzzdee They range from around 4500 to 9000, depending on mileage and condition.
+yaamanzzdee Nah, maintenance is similar to a Honda, because in Europe, it IS a Honda. It is sold as the Honda Accord over there. It's a 4 door car as well, so it wasn't too bad to insure.
Picked one up for peanuts down here in Aus. I really just needed a car with a tow ball because I needed to tow my trailer, and searching for that I came across an Accord Euro.
Managed to beat the sellers down from $3k to $2k, it's far and away the best car I've ever owned in my life. Super comfortable and lux feeling inside, not far off a BMW or Merc but without their maintenance issues. The six speed is slick, handling is solid, it's fun to drive hard, yet the cruise control makes the 10 hour drive from Sydney to Brisbane an absolute breeze.
All that, and it tows my trailer very well :D
All in all an outstanding car, best I've ever owned. Highly recommended.
Bruh your fiancy is wifey type. That's dope she loves to drive stick. Congrats buddy ;)
Thanks man, appreciate the love. She is the BEST. She makes appearances here and there in some of my videos.
Thanks for the review! Hoping to pick up an 05 manual tomorrow
Still have the this car-TSX 6MT 2005-charcoal, 235K miles.
Some brake rotor issues, the console lights don't come on, 1 quart of oil/5K miles
Otherwise, original drive train/clutch, drives and shifts like the day we bought it. A blast to drive, not too long or short for a sedan. Interior has held up well.
There's a town nearby that is, to be PC, "economically challenged". What used, upscale car do you see all over this town? This model TSX-that's a recommendation that trumps any "Car and Driver" review.
+S Kirk for sure, it's a long lasting, smooth car that's fun to drive and has a lot of useful space too, what's not to love?
I own 05 TSX manual and love it. It's a great car fun to drive! Canada 🇨🇦
So how about the noise ? Is it silent and a smooth ride ?
why was your car slightly overheating when you got in the car?
going to pick mine up tommr...look just like new...inside and out...even under the hood...cant wait
drove her home today 3 hour drive...drive just like new...not even a sratch on a black paint...cant believe it...now i hope every thing gonna work find on it👍
You're right, BUT It didn't sale in Europe as an Euro R, it sold as an TSX in the U.S. It has always been an Accord in other countries and we happened to get the top trim as an Acura for this particular generation and the 2nd Gen TSX as the gen the followed. Other Accord generations in Europe were offered in R trims as well.
+Dillon1791 That's correct. In Japan, they got the hotter K20A engine, which was deemed unfit for the US because Americans prefer torque to HP.
The tsx is a nice car I’m glad I got a 06 with memory seats different cluster Side Skirts and the extra 5 ponies lol
love your video man im also getting an 05 tsx 6spd but has 200k you think is worth it for 4800? im sure i could bring him down a couple hundreds. mileage is not a big deal to me specially for honda because these things are bullet proof but give an honest asnwer do you think i should do i want a tsx bad
+Darkalchohol I think 4800 is a bit too high to be honest with you. I would offer 3800. Try to see if he has all of the prior maintenance paperwork, and make sure the paint is good to go. If yes to those, 4200 would be fair I think. Good luck though, it's a great car!
+FlyinGato thanks for the fast reply yea i understand i hopefully he takes my offer body looks good it has a new clutch flywheel i would have to ask him about the rest and like i said mileage is not a big factor to me i have a 01 honda crv with 223k and hasnt let me down hondas a great
Darkalchohol I know what you mean, my first car ever had 315k miles, and that was a 1990 Civic wagon.
that's such a great car, why sell it???
Henry Pacheco Hey Henry, I agree, I like the car a lot, I am getting an S2000, and with a Prelude and a 335d, I just don't have the room for another one. Thanks for watching!
I have an 04 tsx that I bought with 47k ten years ago and my baby still kicking .
I did a full Euro R conversions At year one and had everyone so confused .
Only issues I have had are ,
srs airbag module randomly died ($400) just buy new trust me !!!
Throttle position sensor randomly died on me around second year of owning it ($90) off a part out tsx post on tsxclub
And finally most recently at year ten my starter finally went which was the original starter so yea ..... I’m at 167k and the general public never believe it’s an 04 .
In fairness I painted two years ago , bought a new stock wheels and tires , new breaks and rotors , I just changed the control arms top and bottom just cuz . Might as well do it before they fail . And finally when my starter went I just decided to replace my thermostat and alternator as both were also original.
So next I’m doing axels and a new clutch . I don’t see myself getting rid of my baby anytime soon . Hoping to have the cleanest 04 tsx around not just looks but with functionality ! If you get a chance to buy one I wouldn’t hesitate . 10years strong
I've had mine for 8 years. 2004 model. Bullet proof reliability. But I am now ready to move on. I'm tired of the firm suspension of the TSX on bad roads. You can feel every bump.
Nope. Will probably get an Acura RL if I can raise the cash. That's my goal.
I'm not sure whether I should get a 2004 TL or a 2005 TSX 6spd manual. I'm leaning more towards the TL because I don't know how to drive a stick shift, but my dad is pushing for me to get the TSX because he really likes stick shifts and will teach me if I do end up getting the TSX
+Nick M I would recommend the TSX, stick shift isn't hard to learn, just takes a bit of practice. My chinese fiance learned stick on this car, and she learned it quickly. The V6 on the TL is nice, but the auto transmissions are not known for longevity. My vote is also for the manual TSX.
How was the drive-by-wire throttle? Did it lag as badly as some systems do (i.e. enough rev hang to interrupt smooth shifting or cause herky-jerky throttle application)? Would you recommend any year over another (I'm leaning towards 2006 as it gets the extra 5hp, but not the TPMS of the 07-08 models)?
The 06 is the best one to get. The throttle is ok for being an early generation throttle by wire system. You can callibrate it and it can get better, but it's not as good as the systems now, or as the systems using the good ol cable.
Gracias. I hated the DBW in the BRZ I had. Getting the S2k was great partly because of the old fashioned throttle cable.
Yea, watch it then, it's not the greatest in the TSX. I have the S2000, wouldn't trade it for anything.
jdmnsxr 6 tire pressure monitoring sensors. Expensive to replace, and if you get aftermarket wheels or winter wheels without the extra sensor, you get a constant nag light on the dash.
The 06 and higher look so much better but still clean
Hi i buy txs 2007 203000 miles
For 3000 $$
You think
I make good deal ?
Thanks for the video!
were there any mechanical issues before you sold it? i'm think about getting a '07 6MT w/130k miles. thanks!
+David P. Hi David, the car is pretty much bulletproof. Only things to look out for are a bad sensor on the passenger side seat bealt buckle that will turn on your SRS light (free Acura replacement), power steering noise that is fixed by a 10 cent O ring installation, and the worst one, A/C compressors that like to explode, leaving you without air conditioning until you pony up 1500 dollars to replace most of the system. None of these things will leave you stranded though.
Thanks for the fast reply. I'll make sure to keep an eye out for the issues you noted.
+FlyinGato I think my car is doing that power steering noise can you tell how to fix it man ?
the starters go bad, they consume oil, leaving the engine dry and stretching the timing chain, vtc actuator gets noisy, too
this was a nice video. A great video actually!!! ;)
Thanks! it's one of my first reviews, I keep getting better (at least I hope haha)
the accord in europe is this car its not just a euro r
Yes the cars are the same but in america its called the acura tsx while in europe/japan, its called the honda accord euro r
Do your side view mirrors tilt when you put the car in reverse?
The mirrors do not tilt down on reverse. So far, I've only encountered that in the BMWs that I've owned. on this particular car, the mirrors are actually heated!
whats the song at the beginning of the video?
You forgot to blur your license plate when you were opening the trunk.
favourite thing about the inside of the car isnt really part of the care lol
lol that's my car gotta get the windows tinted
just got my silver tsx tinted, it looks slick :) she's 12 years old still running strong!
Back in those days people used coins? WTF? HAHAHA.
+Josh Frye haha, you know it's true, at least in the NY metro area, everywhere you go has credit card machines for municipal parking. I can't envision myself using coins much anymore.
His shifting made me cringe
+Almighty Jay Yea, it's always a little challenging when it's a new car to get shifting just right. You've inspired me to release a series of "manual shifting" videos :)
I REALLY want to try one of these cars out, but the manuals are SO infrequently available in decent shape on the used market. It's like the perfect compact sedan. Manual drive train hooked to a high-revving engine, 4 seats, no-frills dash, looks good and understated.
it was probably the best first car for Jane, she still loves it to this day!
IKR
ITS GOTTEN WORSE
@@svge_1934ain’t like it’s gonna get better these things are rare simple. just got so lucky picking one up for 2.9k 06 6speed 212k miles
