Still have her? Now thats dedication. Bravo. My pops had the s1 back in the 80s white and green, 200 mph clocked speed, just a sporty fun bird. Keep on rocking.
I wish every Sonerai owner would make a video similar to this! In a perfect world.... Great video, beautiful Sonerai. Wish I could have made it to Oshkosh to see it this year. In my opinion, this is the sharpest looking Sonerai in the air
If you're still on this I'd like to know what the flying characteristics are like. I'm looking at a Sonerai mid-wing. What did you fly to get ready for flight #1? I had a Cassett years ago but only flew a Cub for tailwheel and a very little time in a RV4. I didn't have much trouble even though I was landing at 90. I'm also concerned about being 6' and having the spar hit the top of my legs. Not sure what to do about that.
I am still around! I put about 70 hours on a C120 before flying the Sonerai. It is nimble and neutral in stability. I have never flown a Cassutt but am told that they are similar, but that the Sonerai lands much slower.
@@schmleff Thanks for the info. I'm going to go sit in this one again next week. I just have concerns about being 6' and having that spar right on my legs. It doesn't help that I can't feel my feet anymore either, but that doesn't stop me from racing Legend Race Cars. :) I also don't know if I'll have room for a chute, but maybe I could put a Ballistic on it somehow. I like to turn things up-side-down, and know that legally I should have something. This one also has all the conversions for racing done to the engine, although it's only been flown an hour or two by the builder. This is the second owner and he's been spooked by his "friends" about flying it.

Jeff - Awesome Vid. Grat explaination of the Sonerai. Loved the Vid & the overview. Well Done. Jeff H. NC-USA (Former Sonerai 1 Owner)
really really nice. And man that vw sounds nice, surprisingly sounds like a cammed v8 or something
@DNenter, You are correct, there is currently no class for turbo VW's in SuperVee. Mine is not really turbo charged ; )
Hello, I have some questions about the sonerai, I am about to buy a sonerai 2 and would like to talk to you about the performance of the aircraft
Nice job with the video
