    RTUs and PLCs are two types of electronic devices used for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). Even though they are used to perform the same functions, how they go about doing the monitoring and control job varies significantly.

    disagree with PLC vs RTU I/O capabilities, PLCs are more powerful and efficient in handling large process controls whereas RTUs are really limited to its specific control functions (i.e pumo control only)

    plc is for control something, rtu is for watching high amount of data.

    The RTU such as Kingfisher and TBOX is fully programmable. It does whatever PLC is doing.
