    Why is it that in order to buy a new home, you have to jump through hoops to be able to afford the house, but after the sale it doesn't matter what you can afford. Higher taxes, year after year. The ones that are trying to fix homelessness are the ones causing the problem. Texas passed a bill in 2019 to help homeowners with rising taxes. Unfortunately it didn't take affect till this year. But........if the governor says a national disaster, which Abbott did, nothing changed. Also in order to fight taxes you have to, again, jump through hoops. Pictures, estimates to show that you cannot sell at what they are appraising because of work needed.

    Potential 1st time home buyer here & this was VERY helpful. The property tax is scaring me out of the market. I didn’t know how to find exemptions or dispute the assessment

    Do you really own the home if you can be kicked out for not paying once a year rent?

    Great video. Thank you because I need those exemptions. I’m in Houston, Texas. Is it a state website or a city website in which search for exemptions?

      Try searching for your county's tax assessor. I did a quick search and found this in Harris County: hcad.org/hcad-help/texas-first-time-property-owner/exemptions/property-tax-exemptions-for-homeowners/

    correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't property tax basically just the money it takes for your city/county to operate just divided up proportionally amongst the houses in that area? so if the operating budget of the area stays the same but the property values go up, taxes should stay the same. in other words, property value has less to do with your taxes than does the operating expenses

    Property taxes are unlawful unless a person is using it for commerce or business and have a nexus with the state.

    Taxes on one of you most substantive rights is a misapplication of state statutes intended for commercial properties. Stop challenging the amount of the assessment which says you are ok with the tax, just not the amount. The question is…if the state which is restricted by the constitution to impose taxes on your non commercial property lacking a taxable situs, how was the municipality granted the power? This is as unconstitutional as the day is long. Know your rights.

  • @226cenk9

    They should really reduce imposed/artificial variables on our damn taxes.... instead of taxes on all taxable "variables", they should only be entitled to receive taxes on the market value on the land.... this is just ridiculous... why aren't these exemptions automatically applied to our taxes?! Why does the government create a "need" for people to actively look for exemptions?!!?!?

    • @LYFEAccounting
      @LYFEAccounting  3 роки тому +4

      It's almost like the government owns our property, lol. They're getting paid more in taxes as home values increase.

      Would never work and illogical the way to go is a flat tax everybody pays the same regardless of what your home looks like! Your home is yours not the County's or States but the county has the power to seize your property and have you removed any time they feel a need. HOAs have the same power to evict you so the Fact is YOU do NOT own property they government criminals own the land! You simply pay the tax rent or else.. . .

    Love your Info. Very useful specially now Thank you !. I have a question though , I lived in Stoncrest, Ga since 2017and have 2 exemptions when I checked my "PropertyAssessment". I have H1F which is "Basic Exemption with Freeze" and SB Stonecrest Basic since 2019 , since it's a freeze why am I getting high property tax still ? Is it something to do with the value of the house ?

    Also researching properties and what the value of their homes take a lot of research. Plus, they don't tell you that the property was sold low, remodeled and sold for more. Just a huge screwjob all around.
