  • This looks to be a mechanic's private wrecking yard. Mostly classic Volkswagens, but there're some other interesting cars as well. Namely, a black Honda Beat and a Mazda/Eunos Miata/Roadster/MX-5.
I see rusting collections like this a lot. The impression I've gathered over the years as to why this type of this is relatively common, is the number of single-workshops that specialize in a particular model or maker. It really does make for some interesting discoveries.

Old Volkswagens will always be cool because of the simplistic features and styling, love the square back!

G'day Dan'l. Awesome collection of Volkswagens. They look like potential parts cars, for those who have old VW Beetles, Karmann Ghias, etc. that they want to restore. :)

Every time I see a collection like this I take a little time trip back and imagine them all brand new and all shined up on the dealer's showroom floor... That red VW convertible looks like you could drive it right home!

Wow some rare cars, I haven't worked on a type 3 since my tech school days and of course that Honda Beat is quite rare too. I remember a neighbour once had a Kharmann Ghia and a Volvo P1800, both very similar and beautiful cars. Well I suppose some cars have to be parts cars to keep the survivors going.

Like those VW Beetles, and those Type 14 wagons. But that Karmann Ghia is sweet. Rusty but sweet. Too bad we never got the Honda Beat over here.
But I'll tell you what's sweeter: a rare (I think) Honda Prelude convertible.

WikdSeafood yes Type 3 Squarebacks and Fastbacks 1965 up to 1969 a tad shorter body, different bumpers, taillights, 6 to 12 volt I believe 1967. On my fifth one; a mint 1970 from California found herein Michigan, of all places.

The ghia is a Type 14 which is based on the beetle.
The automatic beetle is either a 1973/74/75 having big taillights and the indicators on the front bumper.
Both type 3's appear to be the 1971 and later model.
The ghia is between a 1959/1969 model. the convertible seems to be a late 60's early 70's one.
and the black one is the back is the oldest of them having pre 1967 headlights.
