I think the main reason why Hyewon’s always looks so emotionless is because she has very bad eyesight, she said herself on a vlive it was -10 or sthm. It’s not the whole reason but it’s part of it, her stage presence has dramatically improved tho if you compare the sequence fancam to something like her LVeR fancam
I feel like she always had been a person first, idol second. Her volunteering to be a rapper when no one else does, her being the shadow of the group, her taking care of her sisters and her not caring for the world just what is important to her. That's what's so precious about her.

I've been into kpop for more than 10 years and having "lines" or camera time in MV isn't that important. What's important to ensure u have a prolonged career in entertainment industry is to regularly appear in TV variety shows, getting casted in dramas etc. General public recognition is most important otherwise u'll likely disappear after your idol career is over like many 2nd gen idols. Well, I guess u can always be a youtuber....

The fact that people still call Hyewon a "rigged member" when she was a part of the actual lineup even if it wasn't rigged. They keep ignoring her incredible improvement too. Actually, I really love Hyewon. Who saw her perfomance "Boombayah", can really notice his improvements. And seeing how these improvements are "overshadowed", honestly, makes me feel bad. Don't get me wrong: all IZ*ONE members are fantastic, talented. But it is enough to compare all their songs to see how the only "lines" she has are anything but lines, and this from Violeta onwards (my thoughts and feelings). The fact that she "wants to be" a shadow, which is still in her nature to be shy, makes me feel bad, because she really deserves it. I often read people insulting Hyewon for his vocal and dancing skills, but after seeing the improvements, do they really have the courage to say it again? In the video is the "La Vie en Rose" cam of how Hyewon literally "copied" Chaeyeon, and, within his ability, how she really did a great job. Like it or not, Hyewon can easily be taken as a model of reference. She deserves to be in IZ * ONE, even if, sadly, the group will have to disband. I just hope for a song where I can listen to her voice for more than 10 seconds, not like in Panorama...
