I hitched hiked 120 miles from Birmingham to see this concert. I got there at 5 am and watched them build the stage. Had breakfast with some Sister Of Mercy fans and got sunstroke falling asleep in my black jeans and leather jacket! Just thought i'd share that with you! By far, the best concert I have ever been to and still devoted!
What a day,it was the best.Our car broke down on the way and took ages to get across london,but the best gig of my life,i remember the full moon that night that hung over the stage and still have my ticket and the radio 1 broadcast on tape...bring back these days,thank you so much for this memory.

For me this will always be it. The pinnacle, the power, and the sound, and the look, and the feel, and the amazing Fab Four known as DM. Not just another electronic band, but the leader of synth stardom. Right musician, right song writer, right vocal medium to deliver it, and Fletch, well, "he just kinda bums around." LOL.
Monumental Gig one I shall never ever forget ~~~ and once again with Tour of the Universe Sunday, December 13th, 2009 Bham LG, they repeated the feeling I got on that night. Amazing Band never fail to deliver
I can't believe the people I were with at the time left this concert during this song (I was 17 they were older).... we went for Sisters of Mercy and at the time I didn't know much about DM.... fast forward to 2010 and DM got me and my husband talking... I've since seen them Live 4 times and absolutely adore them. I think it was fate for me not to love this group until I'd met my true love....

Dave's voice is just perfect for Depeche Mode's songs, the lyrics are so fitting for his baritone voice. And you'll often see the more delicate songs being sung by Martin, I just think its great.
man, i would die to have had the oppertunity to be in this show to hear higher love. I've just been to the sound of the universe tour in Tel Aviv and Depeche Mode are still rocking. best band ever.

Got it thanx. I wonder why they did it outdoors? It kinda lost the effect. The show I went to was indoors so it was nice and dark with the thunder and lightening like on 'Devotional'. What a night!
@MyRocket10 Me too mate :-) What were the other two support acts, Manxman and somebody else. I bought a Manxman cd single called "ship ahoy" a couple of years later just on the strength of recognising the name.
Because with it being an Outdoor show and not being able to start later they started while the sun was still up. Outdoor Shows have stronger Curfew Times.
When u upload u get 100meg only my friend, its bad enough changing the format and losing the bit of quality u have. Hope this explains it a little. Marky
What the hell with the curtains? I'd be pissed off since you can't see jack shit. Anyway, Higher Love is just one of those songs that sounds freakin' AWESOME love. All the ambient echoes and stuff really work well in stadiums and gives the song an even more dream-like quality than the studio recording.
