I also find her spins fascinating! Seulgi and her hips need to stop! The hips certainly don't lie! Wendy's vocals at the end also killed me. She's such an amazing vocalist! I really like this video, besides the fact it’s up close and I can see Irene bless the audience with her smile, but I can hear the live audio. You can hear little subtleties in the singing that can confirm its their actual voices not just a back track. As an educated musician it is completely heart warming to hear them use their real voices and not just lip sync. It commands respect, because they do have the best vocals in KPop. They are on it here and they sound fucking fantastic. Fucking SLAYED!
Weirdly I think on another video (Mosquito)? Someone else mentioned why they are lipping, and to me I don't necessarily mind either way. But it's great to hear this from you as you mentioned you're an educated musician. ^^
They do lip sync, everyone does. To keep your voice at the ready 100% 24/7 is impossible for anybody. Trust me I sing, too. Taken lessons on a collegiate level and some days you are just not going to sing well. Period. Though they do lip syn, when Red Velvet comes to bat with live vocals, 90% of the time they are spot on. Sure Wendy get pitchy here and there but fuck who doesn’t? She’s still an amazing singer and so are the rest of the girls. This performance in particular you can just feel that THEY feel it, and you feel it lol.
Oh of course. I mean at the end of the day, they are entertainers, so generally the choreo > singing. That's not to say that they'd always lip sync. So I understand that some songs will be live whereas majority most likely aren't. And ten of course you'll have moments where your voice will crack.
