Great review! Totally agree that you're paying for the seats, not the dessert. The desserts at World of Color One (we saw it in early November) were also super sweet. We nibbled on them and brought back the rest to the hotel and snacked on them for the remainder of our trip. At the end of a long Disney day, it was a luxury to sit and watch a show, instead of standing. I had made reservations for Blue Bayou for a different day and was glad I cancelled them. My kids aren't adventurous eaters and I don't think we would have gotten the full value of that experience. I felt like those edits on our itinerary helped balance the cost of the dessert party. On another evening of our stay, I passed by folks who were standing waiting to see World of Color. The park wasn't very crowded and I think it probably wouldn't be that bad to stand and wait for the show. However, the WOC dessert party was truly a highlight of my family's Disney adventure.

100% yes. It is worth it. We were just there 2 weeks ago. Our first time to the West Coast from Ohio. We loved having a seat to watch the show. Dessert and unlimited drinks were a bonus. We would absolutely do it again!

A year ago, the same confusion existed on where to actually check in for WOC dessert party. And then after check-in there was still major confusion on when you were to be seated. It's good to know that even after a year they still haven't figured how to get it right. Looking at your portions, it is significantly fewer desserts than what I had last year. Shrinkflation!

I didn't realize that guests now have to stand up during World of Color. I haven't been to California Adventure in many years, but I saw World of Color shortly after it opened in 2010. As far as I can recall, everyone sat down on the ground in the designated viewing area for the entirety of the show. I don't know how shorter people and kids would be able to see the show well with everybody standing.

$89 per person is nearly the cost of a park ticket just for the ability to sit. The dessert plate they gave you looked very uninspiring. A rice crispy treat?!?!? Really? No thanks. I'll sign up for the free VQ.

We went in August for our granddaughter’s birthday. We op’ed for the fruit cheese plate off the special dietary menu. Much better especially that late at night and was able to take the leftovers to the hotel for snacks. It consisted of more cheeses, and different fruits. Grapes, strawberries, kiwi, and blackberries.

We did a traditional World of Color dessert party and the check in process was the same…we were lucky enough to have a tall table in the back, kept us dry on a windy night. The desserts and cheeses looked almost the same as what you ate, we did it as a treat for me and my daughter and think it was worth it.

Checking in is a mess. The first time we did the desert party, I asked so many people and called the 714 number to get information about where to sign in, and NO ONE could help me. I finally found a cast member who knew where I needed to go.
They do have glowing globes for the kids, but I think they should give adults the option of either the glowing globe or alcoholic beverages, especially for families like mine that don't drink.
HOWEVER, our family is doing our third round this Christmas break, we love the whole thing.

We went on November 21 to the second performance. Our check in went quite a bit better than yours. We felt the desserts were not great, we also loved the cheese and grapes. We did enjoy the show very much…we had never seen World of Color before so we had no comparison to the regular show. The real problem we had is we were unprepared for the cold…it was brutal! Had we prepared a bit better we would have had a fabulous time. Was it worth the price? Not for the food but I would say yes for the show. One and done for us….but we did not regret spending the money.

Yeah, we did this last week. It wasn't really worth it. You end up walking quite a way to check in, them standing in line for about half an hour; if I wanted to stand for half an hour I would have just done the virtual queue. The food wasn't great. The coffee and hot chocolate were mediocre. On the plus side, my kids loved the light up sippers and the view was excellent. I think for most people it will be a "one and done" experience.
However, if you're the type of person who likes to have a few drinks at Disney it could be more worthwhile. (Nobody in our party was drinking alcohol.)

I have mobility issues so for us it was great just to be able to sit and enjoy the show. The earlier you check in the better your seat! Choosing the high back chairs gives a better view so request them! I like the fact you get some not so sweet foods at this one unlike the Oogie Boogie version which is ALL SWEETS. Children receive a light changing sipper which is awesome! We had plenty leftover to snack on later at the hotel as well. 😋

Thanks for the review. I always wondered about the view. I was curious if the price tag was worth the view. Having the lower seats seem iffy. The sitting part is a plus. If you get the chance, try the higher level to see if the view has fewer people and lampposts. Thanks! The Rice Krispy treat must have been stale. Bummer.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 дні тому

@@veronicareitherreese6671 So the higher seats are directly behind the lower seats. So the lampposts would still be in the way. And given the distance of the people to the seating area I would imagine the extra 2 feet elevation wouldn’t avoid the standing guests heads. The higher tables are so those guests can see over the lower table guests.

Thank you, travel for the information. Especially on the chicken! It's hard enough when you're tired. It's dark and even though one thing says something. The reality is something else you just relieved. Probably about 40% of the stress when doing an activity like this. I'm curious about the tall tables. Are they in the back question mark is the view just as good question mark my brother and I are tall, but I don't want to compromise our $90 view just because we. Want to be courteous to other people

    • @SoCalDisneyDad

@@LoraineGutierrez13 They are bar stool type height. The taller chairs along with the taller tables. I feel like they would have a significantly higher view (2-3 feet higher) so if you were at a lower table they’d still be able to see over you.
