Seriously China and probably any other Asian countries teams should just create their own new defensive game plans, new schemes and trickery and try to become one of the more mobile and vocal teams which is crucial on defense as well as study tape of all the best irritants ever like Bowen, Rodman, Payton, Bogues, Jordan, Pippen, Tony Allen, Jimmy and Kawhi, even Beverly and try to do at least some of what they used to do to hopefully maximize their strengths and try to mitigate the weak points they have as a team.
They should really change their whole offense too, make ball and player movement paramount and with how fast most of them seem playing like the Warriors or that classic old nuggets high scoring 70s or 80s squad or the Nash Amare Suns or just any ex coached Dantoni 7 seconds or less team or you know bunch of other run n gun teams over the years. Maybe the J Kidd NJ Nets offense would be a good choice to emulate, although it'll just be different problems without the right personnel. Problem with tryna copy GS is its pointless without the Splash Bros plus someone in the Draymond role to facilitate and communicate so using the Dubs playbook would fail horribly, especially against Kerr. The Kidd nets would be damn near impossible without a pure point prodigy like Jason too and worse without all the super athlete defenders like K Mart, Richard Jefferson, Kitties, and I forget who else but that was the perfect storm for Kidd and all those non shooters ending up together to just play D hard and run run run, get those guys to the rim as much as possible. Crazy how great Kidd made an offense with barely any shooting and not many maybe 1 or 2 at most guys who could create their own shots.
Got off track, China needs to identify their best player and try to build a fast break run n gun team around them. Idk maybe just hire Dantoni to show the coach how to install that 7 seconds or less offense and find the best point guard they can.
