Thanks glad you got something out of the video...😀🙏🏾
Thanks for the video, very helpful. I'm completely new to reaper and would have probably spent hours trying to figure half this stuff out myself. Really appreciate it.
Yea ... I understand it took me a min to learn how to do all this... Definitely wanted to help people out with this one...😀🙏🏾
@@learningreaperthanks, I am newbie too since 3 months.
This is a fantastic video, man. I just learned about the “chord scale arp” thing and you took it way past where I was. Plus all of the other tips. I watched this while doing the dishes, so I’m going to get to my PC and run through all of this again.
You covered a LOT of ground quickly. I’m looking forward to checking out your other content. Thanks!!
Thanks... Yea I wanted to have a reference video for when I start making beats in my other videos so that people can follow along with me instead of everyone asking how did you do that .. lol.. it's easier to have a starting video people can follow if they want to skip ahead they can purchase the reaper config file that I made as well... Thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾
Very detailed setup and demonstration. Thank you for showing what's possible.
Yea ... I think it's the best pianoroll I have used and have used many 😂...😀
I followed step by step. Your tutorials are always great.
Thanks... Glad you got something out of the video...😀🙏🏾
This was so helpful, feel like I leveled up just learning so many new features! thank you.
Thanks for watching... I glad you got something out of the video...😀🙏🏾

😀🙏🏾
This video helped me a lot. Thank you very much!
I'm glad you got something out of the video... Thanks for watching...😀🙏🏾
Great vid and worth watching even if you think you know. 😁I got the paid version without thinking and it changed my whole setup. But with Reaper you can always go back and do it by hand. Which showed me a better way to do my piano roll, so thank you, you just showed an old dog a new trick or two.😊Again Thank You.
Thanks for watching... Yea these are some of the things that people forget about when using Reaper customization... It the king for sure... Lol.. thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾
Thanks that was an awesome tutorial saves me a lot of time very useful
Glad you got something out of the video.. thanks for watching...😀🙏🏾
Thanks for the awesome info.
No problem ... Thank you for watching...😀🙏🏾
Bro you are awesome! I didnt know hat strumming notes keybinding haha, this video made my day. thanks!
Yea... So many hidden gems that I left off as well... Hopefully people will realize the power of the midi editor in Reaper and the power of customization... Thanks for the comment.. 😀🙏🏾
@@learningreaper Well thats for sure! I use Reaper for 3 years now and i learn new things everytime I’m watching your Reaper videos! Many thanks brother🙏🏻💪🏻
Great video
😀🙏🏾
Thanks for sharing this. ❤ 😊
Thank you for watching... I tried to show some of the things that people don't know the midi editor can do.. and how to make some customizations of your own to make the editor fit for you... Thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾
Thanks a lot X.E.L OHH!!! Daniel, from the South of the South: Argentina
No problem glad you got something out of the video...😀🙏🏾
Three "welcomes". Thanks X.E.L!
Any time...😂
Mind blown 🤯
Yea ... It gets deep over here at learning reaper... Lol... Such an amazing DAW that is starting to get some traction among producers now... You just have to get over the hurdle of setting it up... 😀🙏🏾
Thank you for this.
Glad you got something out of the video... Thanks for watching...😀🙏🏾
Thank You!
😀🙏🏾
Nice video thx u like allways!!!♥
Thank you...😀🙏🏾
Hi, I just joined your channel. Thank you so much for all your great content. As a former teacher it even for me is a bit hard to follow along when you as three actions and then later show what they do. I'm not trying to be negative, hope you see that, but for tutoring purposes first I'd explain what one action and show what it does, then show how to ad the action and then go on to the next one and do the same.
Ex: split notes on grid (like in in fl studio). Now I don't use fl studio so I have no idea what you mean. So maybe it's an idea to first show what that specific action does, how to set it up and then move on to the next action.
There are a lot of newbies that don't get the grasp of reaper and the more methodically you show stuff the easier it is to learn and not get lost. Maybe even short videos on scripts, commands etc would be an idea. I hope you don't take this negatively as it's not intended to be. I really enjoy your content. Greetings ...
I appreciate the feed back... I will probably make some shorts to explain better which should help with some of the confusion I hope... My videos are not scripted so I kinda stair off a little... Lol.. but thanks for the comments and thank you for watching...😀🙏🏾
Thak u sir🥰🥰🥰
😀🙏🏾
Bro, you made it just like FL Studio's piano roll. This is amazing!
Yea ... I couldn't take the basic midi editor workflow... Thanks for watching..😀🙏🏾
thanks for this
Thanks for watching... I tried to give as much details I could remember of the head... Thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾
@@learningreaper its definitely helping me on this switch. im coming from ableton and studio one so its been a bit on a learning curve but worth it. im pretty much programing it to the functions of both daws plus the things i couldn't do so easy in those daws.
Hey great video man, learned a lot of useful tips! I use FL Studio and I'm thinking about trying out Reaper. Just had a quick question. As you mentioned in the video, you showed how to add notes with a single click. Do you know if it's also possible to change the settings in Reaper so that when you click the left mouse button down it places a note, and then (while you're still holding the left click down) you can move the note around to a different location like in FL Studio. And then when you release the click it places the note? Or can you just place the note in the exact location where you initially clicked?
You can go up and down and stretch when holding down the click but it does not move freely like FL Studio that might be unique to FL... It's funny I have never tried that beforehand it's good to know.. a lot of DAWs are double click to add notes but FL is a different beast... Lol.. thanks for the comment..😀🙏🏾
@@learningreaper Ah no problem man, I though so! Yeah I know ;) Thanks for the reply too :D Do you know of any other DAW which has this functionality, since I use this feature soo much?
@@joshuamoore3312 Pro Tools and Ableton both do this I believe
🔥🔥🔥
😀🙏🏾
You nailed it brother but what is the action where you delete a chord created in the piano roll is that a drag option
Not sure what you are asking....🤔 To remove things in the piano roll right click drag what you don't want and delete.. or double click a single note to remove it... Hope this helps
When I hit Alt key the eraser appears but when you deleted notes the action was different am I missing something @@learningreaper
Great video. Where can I find the manage repositories to add the link
You have to have reapack installed I have a video showing how to install it if you need visuals... Let me know if you have questions...😀🙏🏾
@@learningreaper ok. I am using m2 Mac mini that video will help with it. If yes I would love it
Hiiii, just a little question, what if my MIDI doesn't sound? Do you know how can i fix it?
Do you have a vst on the track and midi enabled?
At 10:59 in the video, the Piano Roll header suddenly changed from "MIDI take: 01-MIDI" to "MIDI take: 01-Addictive Keys-MIDI". I was matching you step by step, but mine did not change. Is that why later on in the video, when you click to insert a note, I hear a beep in your video. but I hear no beeps on my installation that I am using to follow along?
I got ya... I closed it out and made a addictive keys instrument so that you can hear the midi when I put it in... It was cut out to make the video flow better... Hope this helps...😀🙏🏾 Let me know if you have questions.
followed these instructions to a t, cant seem to get the scales to show up from the chords scales and arps script. it allows me to import from my user plug ins. They all show up on the menu and i hit close. when i right click on the note in piano roll there is just insert note like usual. Any idea what could be going on? i went over the steps several times.
What are you trying to to do?
@@learningreaper around 14:30 in the video. insert scale using right click. when i right click on the note that option wont come up. cant see what i could have done wrong. from what i can tell ive followed all the steps leading up to that point. the nessacary file is there and all the keymaps show up. just when i right click after closing out the window it wont come u, just the usual right click options. Not sure if im explaining it well.
whats the best free vst for making bass for lofi ?
I wouldn't say there is a best free one... But you can try sine player, modo bass, monster synth, zenology lite or use one shots to make your bass lines for LoFi... Hope this helps...😀🙏🏾
If I insert a midi item can I make drum beats with it? If I have my drum plugin. Just wanna know cause I don't have a midi keyboard.
If the midi drums match up with the VST that you are using yea you can do that.. you don't need a midi keyboard you can use the typing keyboard to trigger midi as well.... Let me know if you have questions...😀🙏🏾
@learningreaper OK thanks I use cakewalk but I like to learn bit of reaper aswell.
Hi, what is the advantage of having your DAW installed on a flash drive besides mobility?
Just mobility and if you download all the formats you can use it on Mac... PC and Linux so pretty much you can use it on anything... Or let's say you don't want to bring your desktop computer to the studio you can bring just the flash drive and still load your sessions the only thing about that is the vsts might not be the same on someone else's computer so not all of your sessions vsts will open.
@@learningreaper it is actually a great idea, thanks for the explanation!
i dunno how i missed this one
Yea ... That's a good one .. get that piano roll setup to flow a lot better... 😀🙏🏾
@@learningreaper bro I'm finna facelift my reapack

I'm using Peace in this tutorial... i did a little modification to it as well .. you can get it from the Reaper stash site..😀🙏🏾

Same here after 2 years of cakewalk, it's started to give me few errors like audio dropouts, project crashing while saving and I'm losing lots of my work because of that so Im just switching over to reaper now.@@learningreaper
